    Hello All,

Amazing forum, learning a lot by reading threads. Thank you!

My dilemma at the moment is I need to replace the windshield glass on my 2020 Tundra. I am based out of Toronto. The dealer told me the OEM brand for my vehicle is AGC Automotive.

How to acquire AGC automotive original windshield other than the dealership?

And besides the OEM, what’s the best option in after-market brands available in Toronto that are reliable and won't cause me leakage or other issues?Original Windshield.jpg

If anyone has direct experience or can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

    Alot of them
There are a couple of OEM manufactures for Toyota windshields. Most likely the only place that you will get an actual OEM glass is from a dealer that has their own collision and glass center. Most dealers outsource for glass replacement. I just went through this on my 2020. Most chain shops like Safelite use chinese branded glass (Foyou being one of them). The good glass shops use OEM equivalent glass. Find a local and independent shop that has good reviews and tell them that you want an OEM equivalent. PGW/Vitro, etc.

I'm confused what the 2020 Corolla title is about.

HUGE ASSUMPTION LOL, probably using predictive texting on phone and used the first thing that came up. I was also wondering the same thing.

what about AGC automotive windshield, Does anyone have any idea how to get the original other than a dealer?

What other brands are of high quality, closer to original specs?

You will want to stick with AGC. Fuyao or Vitro might make an aftermarket replacement, but they don’t have the quality that AGC does. Other replacement companies like safelite here in the US should carry the replacement from AGC. Each manufacturer bakes into their production a level of replacements so any window repair shop whether dealer or other like Safelite, you can get the OEM windshield.

One thing to watch out for is dealer saying OEM and trying to charge you more. Anyone selling the windshield and it’s made from AGC it’s the exact same windshield.

Yea I just assumed this is going to turn into spam tbh. Waiting for a reply that says "I bought a glass that's just as good as OEM but for only $20 at blahblahblah.com!"

Be aware the OEM may be not exact the same glass that they sell to factory.

My factory Pilkinton glass was like 10+ years old and I finally decided to replace it, with Pilkinton. It turned out awesome, no complaints at all.

So when the time came for the other vehicle of the same marque, I decided to replace the glass with Pilkinton again. First off, it gave distortions at the edges that the factory one or the replacement on the first vehicle didn't have. Then in a year it was all scratched by debris, lot worse than the 10+ years old factory glass had.

For the third car with the same glass I bought DeWalt polisher and cerium oxide, and it made it the glass like new. Unfortunately it caught a rock on a log road, I replaced it with not that cheap Chinese glass, which is ok. Rain sensor does not work anymore, but I don't care.
