I am looking at pulling my carpet and replacing it with anything but carpet. I have 2 dogs that are light tan in color and apparently do no like their hair because most of it is in my Tundra and the wifes 4Runner.

I am planning on removing the rear seats and sell my ESP metal storage and remove the brackets. I want no carpet and I will start building my area for storage under the dog section. Much easier to clean the hair with a leaf blower than trying to get it out of carpet

I don't believe any 2.5 gen came without carpet. I could be wrong though. Maybe SR?

I remember seeing some type of rubber or whatever in place of the carpet. I know way back in the day Chevrolet offered no carpet options. I seen a pic a while back that I thought I seen on here that had a Tundra with no carpet. Not sure what the material is they used. I guess I could pull everything, sound deaden the floor and find some type of rubber/plastic/whatever type of material and see if I can mold it in place with a heat gun.

Got my work cut out for me I guess, was looking for the easy button

    Too many, but not enough....
My old ranger has vinyl and no carpet. I think for tundras only SR with work truck package has vinyl.

You can get rear floor mats that will cover 80% of the carpet. You can get creative for that last bit.

You could do like some of the Jeep folks...Rhino or LineX the entire floor.

I have those mats, the hair gets everywhere and I don’t care for it. I even have the tape they use at dealers that have the carpet completely covered but jay want to do something different.

I have seen that also and was thinking that would most likely be the best. Would be nice to find someone with the vinyl and wants an ESP under seat storage unit and we could make a deal. It would have to be local of course or close enough. I can dream right? LOL

I pulled it all out, cleaned the carpets and put them in a bag then continued to pull everything, clean and install the replacement. All in all not a bad replacement but the molded parts (i.e. around seat brackets, etc.) were just not molded correctly but the company disagreed. I am sure when summer rolls around again and I park it in the sun with windows up it will make a huge difference

    HOLY CRAP, that's pretty ambitious!

I wonder if you hit those spots with a heat gun (or blow dryer) and a roller if they might lay down better.

I've pretty much just resigned myself to the fact that most of my stuff... house, car, truck, RV, clothes, is gonna' have dog hair on it most of the time.

    Let's see the pups!

My 2012 has vinyl and given all interior pieces from a 2.5 swap into a 2.0, I'd guess that the flooring contours would be the same. Curious if you checked into that first and ruled it out.

*Edit, I'm dumb and missed the crewmax part.

I posted up in here asking if any of the 2.5 models had something other than carpet and there was never a positive answer so I looked for alternatives. I also bet that I could not have bought Toyota replacement for under $200

All around a bummer on vinyl not being more popular because Toyota did a bang up job on the work truck rendition. More guys should be doing the swap you just did.
