If you're concerned try adding a bead of clear RTV along the perimeter

Is it just me or is the shade of red slightly different between the 3rd brake light and the tail lights?

Hey guys, my third brake light also did not come w/ mounting screws. I did receive some mounting screws separately, but can someone confirm if what I received is correct? The holes on the third brake light are NOT threaded, so curious on how these fit?

The course threads probably go into the cab and the fine threads are to secure your light housing.

Yep that looks right. The course threads almost self tap into the plastic housing of the light. Just tighten them until they are fully seated in the holes.

I just installed my XB3 today. I like the look, but I'm worried about it leaking. Looking at the thin gasket along the top, it so loose that it pulls right out on the right hand side. I don't think I can tighten it any further. It's supposed to pour down rain here this weekend and don't want the cab to flood. Thoughts?

When you tightened down the nut from the inside, did you ever get it to fully cinch up against the 10mm bolt attached to the light? Mine never really grabs to the point that I can't turn it anymore. It just keeps going. I'm wondering if I stripped it somehow? Needless to say, there is definitely a gap between the top lip of the roof to the point where the thin gasket isn't 100% locked into place. That's where my concern with the leak is coming from.

It may be that I'm just a dumbass. I called Headlight Revolution and the guy said I need to remove a film to expose an adhesive. I don't remember seeing anything to remove and no where in the videos or Morimoto's install docs does it say that I need to remove a film to expose an adhesive to secure the light to the truck. Did I miss a a step?

The top lip rubber gasket is not really there to provide protection against leaking. Honestly, I don't even think you need it. The foam gasket is the one that seals the light against the cab. If you look at the OEM light, there is a gap between the top lip and the cab also.

Mine does not fully contact the truck itself. But I don’t see any type of flimsy gasket like you have. I just had the more solid foam gasket surround the actual hole in the cab from the light. As long as that part is tight against the cab you’re good. I’ve had mine in place for a few months now through some heavy rains and no issues.

Did you have to remove any sort of film that adhered the light/gasket to the truck?

When I talked to Morimoto they said I had to remove a film from the gasket to adhere it to the truck. If you watch videos, all the Ford XB3 lights have a white sticker that needs to be removed prior to installation. I never did that, so I tried to remove the light to see if I missed something. When I did that, the screws wouldn't come loose. They just spun and spun. Morimoto told me to break the light off the truck, which I did. Broke it in half. Then I had 2 screws and a gaping hole in my cab. I took it Toyota and a collision tech had to grind the screws down to remove them. Total shit show. Now I have duct tape covering the hole. Morimoto said they would replace the light, but this experience has been a disaster.

I'm wondering if I installed it correctly the first time? Oh well. Morimoto light is broken in half, I have a hole in my truck covered by duct tape, so I guess I'll need to get a replacement and try reintalling.

Quick question, can you guys check if your "reflectors" inside the four vertical "lenses", or whatever you want to call those, are centered. My OCPD is kicking in hard.

Sorry for your luck. My guess is the studs stripped out of the tail light housing. When I tightened the nuts under the headliner I was worried about that so I just snugged them up even though the light itself did not contact the cab (although the gasket did). At least they are sending you a new one though. As far as the gasket goes, I did not have any type of film on it that I recall.

Sorry for the late reply. That pic don't look right and it sounds like they are stripped. But I don't recall a clear plastic film either. Its just rubber. You need to make sure you clean the area really well and get off the previous gunk that the old light left behind.

Installed mine today. Overall I'm happy with it. It doesn't sit flush on the top of the light to the cabin either.
(Also the box the light came in threw me off, because the outside sticker on the box says (07-13), but the actual box says 2014-2021. - I have a 21. See last picture)

@Bdiddy, are your reflectors centered in the lens? See pictures above. I'm wondering if they have updated the light since the first batch. I know it's not an issue on any other car, just the Tundra, which is disappointing, at least to me.
