Corsa Exhaust not what I was hoping for

Buying an exhaust is tough. Companies do not provide decibel ratings and youtube videos only give you a rough idea.

I previously had the TRD exhaust from Toyota on a previous Tundra and that sounded great at start up, idle and wide open throttle. (I know, I know, should have stayed with what I knew)

Decided to try Corsa based on their reputation. Sadly, it is maybe 25% louder than stock and has zero growl at idle. I could have gotten better results with a $200 muffler upgrade (though I would likely have not liked that sound either, but I would be less invested).

FYI: there is no refund from Corsa once installed.

Than you for allowing me to take just a moment to cry/whine among friends. (now go easy on the should have gone Dirty Deeds hype :) )

I've had my Corsa for 2 years now, I think it sounds great at idle and louder than the TRD I've experienced all around. I've experienced no drone even while towing. If I remember right, it took some time to break in before the sound woke up. It still looks new (little corrosion) after 2 Missouri winters (going on third)

How long have you had it installed?

No drone at all. I think you would need to have the windows open to her at all, aside from wide open throttle where I can hear it a little.

It has been on for a week and about 100 miles. I will hope it breaks in and if it does, I will follow up to say so.

I had the same experience with the Corsa dB exhaust. I got the TRD dual exhaust and am a lot happier with it.

Any ‘break in’ is in your mind. There is no packing to burn out. It’s mechanically the exhaust same thing from the time you put it on the truck until you trade in the truck. It doesn’t rot. It’s. 304ss. I’ve never seen anything in corsa break and I’ve been tundra exhaust business 20 years.

post it for sale on marketplace. Take the $$ and put it into a Bamuffler system. We have a lifetime sound warranty, but you won’t need it with over 100 options for your truck alone. 760-877-4234

Corsa on tundra is waaay quieter than corsa on GM

BAmufflers 8” has the Chrisp sound you want with no drone. And better low end torque too. Tundras are odd. Changing exhaust diameter loses power.

If only there were recommendation posts for @dirtydeeds being the best option for Tundra exhaust systems in multiple choices of loudness on this forum..:eek2::D:cool:

Good luck with the Corsa guarantee @WiscoPete

I had a Flowmaster 10 series installed in Aug with two 45° drops installed. Rather than one pipe per muffler I went 2 in 2 out one muffler. It may have made it louder idk. Even so unless it's Idling it's loud as all creation on acceleration or wot. If I were in my 20s I'd leave it. Being 52 and less tolerant I can honestly see myself changing it out in a year or so to another Flowmaster down their product line that is more quiet in cab.I don't know the model name but it's basically a 3 or 4 baffle unit vs the 2 baffle I have. Plus pipes out the side will help. Good thing about mufflers depending on your layout their not too expensive $$.
I must say the 5.7 3urfe makes a most beautiful powerful sound with this Flowmaster at 3000--5000 rpm
Oh wow the first time I heard it with the rear window down it blows me away. Definitely the most powerful vehicle I've ever owned.

I had a Borla muffler replacement, it was awful. I now have a DD 6" and am very happy

You can lead a horse to water.... @dirtydeeds is the best option and they have done the dyno and drone testing to prove it.

This site will fight to the death over oil weight, frequency of changes, and brand. But yet we all agree that @dirtydeeds is the best exhaust system hands down.

Crazy right? Must be some sort of big business Tundra muffler society conspiracy :notsure:.
