I’ve been scrounging around trying to find a viable replacement for my much loved 300,000 mile original owner Dodge Cummins one ton. I’m partial to the 5.7 Tundra for all the usual reasons. A local dealer is procuring a 2021 SR5 DC LB 4wd with 1,850 mile. Apparently a demo of some type. Certified with 7/100K drive train warranty. I don’t know if the will actually take it but we’re knocking around $43,500 plus TTT. I would appreciate some experienced opinions on that price in today’s market. Thanks for any feedback.

In today's market, that sounds like a decent deal if it one has 1,850 miles on the odo.

What options are on it? I paid about the same for mine with 14,500 miles on it about a month ago. SR5, TRD Sport, 4x4, convenience package, technology package or whatever, SR5 upgrade package. I don't remember the names of all the packages but it has the dual climate zones, push button, LED headlights, 38 gallon tank, etc.

Should give you an idea on the price.

Thanks, that helps. It is 1,850 miles. SR5 4wd but no TRD. Tow package. Not sure on the rest as I’m ok with what-ever after the 4 wd and tow package.

An easy way to look at this is to compare it to the MSRP of the truck when it was new. My bet its that it is close. With that kind of mileage, it is basically a new truck that is 2 years old.

O hell yeah go for it, at 1,850 mile is almost new :) Price, try to push it down under 40K. I got mine with 108 miles in that range before TTT

And you can get extended warranty for 10Years / 125K miles for like $1400 from our friend Jerry

Sounds like a fair deal. First mod IMO would be to upgrade to a OEM 38gal tank (since its not a trd package truck) or a Transferflow 46gal tank, you'll thank yourself each week with less fill-ups.

Me, too. Even for $2K I am in for 110 years or until the truck falls apart, whichever comes first (?)

I paid $39k OTD for my 2020 DC SR5 2WD. The market is coming down, with that said, it's a ok deal, not a great deal. Looks like they are selling it for MSRP. Dont know your sale tax but at 7% like it is here, that's another $3k plus whatever else they tack on. OTD closer to $47-8. Definitely not getting a 3rd gen at that price. Also you said drivetrain warranty, is it only drivetrain or bumper to bumper CPO warranty? That makes a difference. I would prefer a full coverage CPO warranty. Or look around for lease returns, that's another option and cheaper.

That’s why I asked about the other packages. You get the 38 gallon on the SR5 upgrade or whatever

Could be in Canada, but not in the US. I have a 2021 SR5 4x4 CrewMax with the small tank and the bench seats in the front.

Love the truck! Just about to hit 60,000 miles.

39K is the perfect number, 41K the most I would offer.

Is the warranty included, bumper to bumper? if so then $42K ok, the most.

If the warranty is not bumper to bumper from Toyota ask them to drop it and get this truck for $39K.

I will help you negotiate. I can be your agent. I am brutal and I am not even jewish. My wife walks outta every negotiation meeting with me. I just get results :)

Shit if you don't buy it, I will and then store it, preserve it :)

Basically I will have 2 x 2.5 gen Tundras for the price of one 3rd gen and so much better and reliable. This second one could be my coffin :)

You couldn't get bench seats in Canada. So that makes sense.

That price is entirely subjective to the market. I have no idea what 4x4 base model Tundras are worth in Northern Florida. And likely no else on here knows as well. If they aren't in your immediate location, and not dealers, then they don't know anything and are blowing smoke and making up numbers not based on reality, but on their own regional markets. Useless.

It's all about supply and demand, at the basic level. A 4wd Tundra might be not as valuable in Northern Florida as it would be further North where snow and ice is common. I paid $49k a few months ago for a 2021 Tundra 4wd CrewMax 1794 Edition with 43K miles on it with a Leer canopy. I got a good deal for this area and could sell it today for what I paid.

When shopping for a vehicle in 2020, I turned down a brand new Tundra SR5 4x4 DC LB in Khaki Sand for $33k and instead bought a 4Runner SR5 for $36k. So the $43k for the same vehicle almost 4 years later and used for $10k more seems idiotic. But, it just might be a great deal for your area.

We all know the KBB and NADA sites are useless in today's insane markets, so your best bet is to just search Autotrader and Craigslist for your area for similar vehicles.

Did you buy it? I was serious about not minding buying this one as well. I could give it to my son and sale his 2013 120K miles.

I have not bought it yet but it's not off the table for me. It would be prudent for me to wait a bit due to some medical uncertainties so I'm dragging my feet and pondering. You are welcome to it. It's at Daytona Fl Toyota. I forget who it was I was dealing with but when dealing with a dealership it seems anymore you are dealing with everyone. A contact number I have 850-261-6282. I think that's the salesman's cell number. Good luck.

For context if it’s helpful, I just bought a CPO 21 limited TRD OR with 35k miles for $46k in AZ. It’s super clean, previous owner had it as a lease. I thought it was a decent deal but would have like to have had more time to shop around. Was under the gun to replace my 17 Tacoma that was deemed a total loss after being rearended.

It is helpful and thank you. Looks like my situation should be clarified by next week at this time so I'll either be hard in the hunt again or off the trail. As much as I'd like something smaller and more economical to own a late model 5.7 Tundra still seems to be the best of a lot of bad options.
