Could you ever get an '00-02 with a painted rear bumper? I'm looking at new rear bumper options for next spring, and the unpainted ones are a lot cheaper than chrome. I've got a ton of paint left over from when I repainted those spots on my truck. Painting a rear bumper to match would be easy.

My other concern is how it would look with a painted rear and a chrome front. I'm not sure if the 00-02 front bumper would look good painted. I like the chrome a lot but there's a pretty good price difference.

My 2019 has painted rear and chrome front. At least it looks good from behind. My 00 had chrome factory, but now has a paintable front and I bedlinered the rear chrome one years ago.

Got the bumper welded up over the last few days and hit it with some low gloss black today. Just temporary paint, but looks good enough for who it's for.

The parts pile is rapidly growing. I couldn't resist seeing what the Limited grill was going to look like.

Driven by that place a couple of times, I'll call and see what they're charging. The place I've been buying from has been flakey lately.

Lowest we ever got was like 18, but that's rare. We get a few freezes a year.

So we live in a magical state, the diversity is amazing. But down in the desert it can get to 15-20 maybe? That doesn’t happen all the time(had a crazy winter like 7 years back, plumbers were rolling in cash from all the burst pipes)
But normal temps at night get in the lower 30s on the regular.
I do a backpacker every year to the local state park, always at the beginning of January; we’ve been up there when it’s in the upper 40s at night, and also around 18; we’ve hiked up in a snow flurry and back down in shorts. But regardless we always do a polar bear swim!!!

We only got down to like 10, but it was below freezing for like 2 weeks. I had to fix lots of burst pipes, luckily none were mine, but i'm out of spare pvc fittings now.

I had some leftover insulation from when I had my A/C replaced back in May. I wrapped the water line where it comes out of the ground and into the house ( only a couple of feet), so I should be good this year.

I learned my lesson a few years ago when it hit about 17. I got up in the middle of the night to take a piss, flushed and no water refilling the toilet. Ended up on the side of the house with a propane torch thawing the pipe.

The sun rots most attempts at prevention within 3-4 months, you either have to paint it white with roof coating, or have it fancy wrapped with aluminum covers, or foil tape if your poor.

We only have a few or 4 nights below freezing and once or twice a hard freeze.
How often do you get below?

We don't get too many freezez per year here. Some years none. But when it does get below freezing, it very rarely goes below 20°F. But I'm coastal.

So we’re in the desert, but I’m hoping to play in the snow 30-140mins away depending which way you take. Hit up the cookie cabin for some cocoa while it’s snowing and then head back down to camp
