Well some interesting tidbits from today.

First, a warning. If you need to buy color-matched parts, it looks like Toyota is phasing those out. I ordered charcoal grey, it said it in the description and per the part number, I got tan. We've seen this with other parts, well, I think soon it's gonna be ALL the parts. Original on the right.

I just de-pinned and swapped that plastic part over, and all is well. But still...

    upload_2023-12-16_16-58-48.png

Went ahead and slapped some sheets of Noico, couple inside the door on the outer skin, and a few slaps in strategic spots to catch panel edges. Knock test before/after is good.

I know, I'm saying, I've been threatening to buy one, and I'd prefer a v-hull [like yours].

And you can't beat that pricing! Wish I'd have bugged Dad for his when he was parting with it.

I need to build an interior for my starcraft. But i plan to use the evinrude on a golf cart.

polo has been riding on the golf cart like a champ. Doesnt try to jump off for cats or squirrels.

havent done much to the tundra, but i've been sleeping in it, comfortably. Low is gonna drop to 40* tonight, and into the 30's tomorrow. Not bad at all for 2 sleeping bags (so far). Shoulda bought a pillow at the store today, but a rolled up hoodie has been working like a champ.

@txagg was it you that installed the torsion bar tailgate thingy? How do you like it? I just got mine yesterday. I'm sort of in disbelief that it would work, just looking at it, and attempting to twist it myself.

Yeah someone posted a Facebook link to the guy who was selling them. I couldn’t see it myself since I don’t have Facebook.

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

Harbor Freight has a decent and fairly cheap LED trailer light kit that often has a coupon, it's what I have on my utility trailer. Be careful with those EZ-Lube zerk axles, you can blow out the rear bearing seal using them. I did on one of my 4 wheels on my travel trailer.

Oh, those are different than buddy bearings. Never get the plug completely taut to the spring. Leave 1/8" or whatever for heat.

It might. If it does, it doesn't bother me. I need to replace the handle and lube everthing. I have a handle with built in backup camera and I nice Pioneer touch screen I need to install. But I don't know which wire to tap to turn on the camera with reverse (unless it lets me tap the reverse light, some cameras make you tap the wire under the dash). Plus the PO installed this stupid CB/PA system and it's somehow intertwined with the current shitty windows touch screen. I haven't worked up the courage to fuck with any of it yet.

Easiest solution. Is to tap the power off the reverse light circuit, so the camera lights up with the reverse lights only.

Right. But the pioneer camera I installed on my other ride didn't give that option. I had to tap a wire under the dash and connect to the head unit, unless I wanted to run another wire from the head unit to the tail light. The pioneer camera only had the one insulated wire that ran from camera to head unit. Or it split right before the head unit, more likely. It's been a long time since I installed it. But I ended up tapping the wrong wire and blowing the amp on that pioneer unit. So I payed Car Toys for another head unit and to finish the install of the reverse wire tap for the camera. Since then, I've gotten a five channel amp to power the other head unit with the blown amp

My bumper mounted camera is useless until i get about 2ft from something. And at night, more like 1 ft. Handy with trailers, though.

I think I have photos in my build thread. But ok to tap in the rear if that’s your preference.

That sounds like a really crappy camera.
