So I went gun shopping this morning for a replacement for my Sig P226 in .40. Big gun plus +2 mags is heavy and a bit cumbersome with an OWB holster. I was torn between a Sig P365XL, Sig P365X macro, and a Sig P320 compact. They sold the 365X macro yesterday so that narrowed it down cause I wanted it today cause I'm an impatient bastard. After getting Grill's opinion and finger banging them I went with the P320 compact. It just felt right. Filled out the background check and it said it put me on a delay. WTF? They said it'd be a week until I could get it, and that it happens regularly. In TX? This isn't CA or NY, WTF?

    *insert bannable rant here*

Anyways, I payed for the gun, an IWB holster, and some JHP for it, as all I have is plinking 9mm. They'll keep and eye out and call me when my paperwork passes. So annoying.

I have 2 .45's and one .380 but would like to have a 9mm as a carry. One of my .45s is a compact but it's still pretty beefy.

85 has been our hard stop for the women folk who always outlive the mens in my family lines. These 9's are totally uncharted.
I have started the countdown (be it a large number) in months until I can touch my 401k. I have no intention of making it into the 9's.

I just don't want to die in a tangle of tin. That's why I throw out the Saab mention. Experience has shown me they're good cars to crash in. I wouldn't want to be in a vintage GTI or any Geo crash.
I so want to get a motorcycle, but drivers in this town have the mental focus of a spastic kitten.

I always figure water goes down hill & eventually ends up at "the shore" & there's always people live along the shore. So if there's running water you can't really be lost.
Out west things are a bit different. In NV I just made sure to keep Vegas within sight, or stay on a paved road. Not dead yet, so guess it worked.

Dude I hope you have better luck than me. I had a $200 Bersa that was more reliable than my $1,500 Sig MPX. Sig isn't what they used to be. I'll stick with Glock.

My P226 hasn't skipped a beat, even when ran dry as a bone. When I took my CCW class, I accidentally dropped it in the dirt/sand with the slide back while putting my holster on. My plumber buddy was there so we dumped cutting fluid on it to "clean" it and I ran the rest of the class like that. It didn't care, not one bit. The P226 sold me so we'll see what the P320 can do.

AllTrails has similar, though I don’t think it’s intended for this use

if you open Google maps and let it run in the background, it will also keep dibs on where you are even without GPS service. Not sure how it works but we used it heavily in Torres del Paine.

Yeah I'm just salty over my experience but SIG did pay to fix it which is nice. My brother has a P320 that he loves. My wife has had a p238 now for 10 years and that one has been very reliable.

I still have the MPX. I just had to accept it isn't my most reliable piece which sucks because it's really fun to shoot.

I've been eyeballing a Sig M400 for a while now. I don't think it'll be anytime soon, but I do plan on getting one. Pfff, Sig fanboy confirmed.

GPS doesn't require a cellular signal. I have spent weeks without a cellular signal but was able to track myself on a map while in airplane mode. I use GoHunt mapping. OnX has similar..

Dude, don't get my MOJO flowing right now. I haven't clicked the link but I saw the CRX and RWD and my pee pee jumped a tad. Then I saw the carburetor and it went back down. Thank God for that.

One of my "I won the mega millions!" dreams is to have a RWD CRX with a B20. The other 6 all involve SHOs in all different FWD/RWD/AWD configurations. Oh, and I'd have Ironman fully restored but OEM+. With lockers. And armor. And keep the 15s. And armor. And 35s. On 17s. But they have to be pizza cutters. Yeah.

Im about neck deep in sequoia/tundra axle research.

@bmf4069 truck is an 02 as is the sequoia donor available to us

    Both axles are 6 lug

The 1GT has a WMS to WMS(wheel mount surface) measurement of 67" (confirmed on my axle)
The 1GS has a WMS to WMS measurement of 66" (unconfirmed) +.5" of wheel spacer each side would keep the same track width.

Sequoia has a rear Dif ratio of 4.10 so it will need a re-gear. Perfect time for a locker?

The ABS sensors have some differences. Im no sexpert in this area, so i'll have to do some more digging for a workaround.

The "easy" stuff in my opinion
    Brake lines
shave axle housing/fab spring perches/fab shock mounts
    re-drill pinion flange

I need to visit the salvage yard and grab the hood release latch for my limited grill swap. I will confirm the Sequoia WMS to WMS measurement, and take a good look at everything while I'm there.

Are you looking to gain the disc brakes and mod the axle to fit the leaf springs? Or are you planning to mod the truck to be coil sprung in the rear? The 4.10's would definitely be better than 3.91 but yeah if you're going to a locker, might as well upgrade the gears too. Either way you'd have to upgrade the front. If you did, I'd be interested in the rear 4.10 gears for my 2wd, especially if it has an LSD already. I figure it would be easier to swap in the 4.10 if they already have an LSD vs removing my 3.91's from my LSD and swapping the 4.10's on. I want my 03 to be able to do a standing burnout with no brakes. I figure with my current power mods, plus a tune soon and 4.10's that should be achievable.

I'll check on the LSD. either way one set of gears will have to be done to get the same ratio's.

This. Not a huge deal, but adds some scope to the project. The coil mounts look way inboard on the Sequoia axle, Im guessing you would have to move them anyway to be in the optimal location. Just a guess though, I will know more after I hook my peepers into it.

Don't threaten me with a good time!

This idea got started with his comments about his trucks odd braking behavior even with the 13wl's. I think he may have a faulty booster, and adjusting the LSPV may help too.

Grab the sequoia front diff for matching 4.10's. Swap pinion flanges if necessary for the rear.

If you were closer I have a spare OEM lsd 3rd w/4.10's...
