Which is a better deal? 24 Limited hybrid vs 23 TRD pro

24 limited Black/grey: 68k MSRP, 65k OTD (premium, pvm, power, pano, trd running boards)
23 trd pro Grey/red: 74k MSRP, 73k OTD (liner, safe, black lettering)

both brand new, fully warranty etc
23 trd pro made after fuel line issues (and has both keys)

also...any significant future value difference in these (residuals about the same?)

FWIW, I'd definitely miss the storage under the rear seats that goes away with hybrid.

Platinum ‍♂️ hybrid is cool but not a platinum

 

The TRD Pro will hold its value better, I believe.

 

You're getting hybrid components, fox suspension, and 18" BBS rims in addition to the "premium, pvm, power, pano" which comes standard on the Pro.

Otherwise if you did not care for that privilege with the limited trim (Pro based off limited) you would be looking at a SR/SR5 and using the money for your choice of mods.

I would just get a Platinum over a loaded Limited.

 

Why is that? can you get TRD on platinum for you couldn't in 2023.

 

If they're about the same price, then you get real leather and outboard rear heated and ventilated seats with Platinum. In 23, Limited didn't have digital display standard. Limited also had more chrome: handles, upper body, grille surround, polished wheels. 23 Plat didn't have TRD OR package, but now it does. Thankfully 24 Limited TRD OR is now body color, but that adds more money and you can get the locker and stickers on the Plat if it is an absolute requirement.

OP doesn't mention TRD OR in the 24 unless I missed it.

I have a limited trd or, and I like the trd wheels plus they are 20 inches instead of 18s. Also like the active x seats since I have leather and have had leather in lots of vehicles and it wears faster than the faux leather stuff.

 

I guess it depends on how long you're keeping the truck. Pro will have better resale in the short-term, but the Limited has everything I need, hence why I went with the Limited. For the Platinum folks, leather seats are great and all, but if you keep your rig a long time, the leather will definitely be a headache in the future. Softex will last forever and is much easier to clean.

 

If you like loud exhaust then pro, my age I like the quiet limited…my 2 cents

 

Apart from the wheels and suspension and few electronic bits, they are pretty similar. The Pro is an upgraded Limited as far as Toyota is concerned at least up here in the great white north. There is a new 23 TRD Pro for sale in my area for 92K canuck bucks! Limited Hybrids are going for about 75 to 78K. There was a 22 used Pro for sale for 110k??? Not too sure what they were thinking on that one.

So are you going to upgrade the wheels/tires and put a lift on the truck? Most people do that and remove the TRD Pro parts and sell them. You could easily get 2,500 for the wheels and 2,500 for the fox suspension from the Pro. That money would be eaten up on the new parts.

Selling the Limited parts wouldn't get you that much.

Keep in mind that you may not want to change the suspension or wheels. Also, the Fox suspension will require some ongoing maintenance which sounds like a bit of a hassle and expense.
