I was hoping that with the new control arms the alignment issues would be addressed. After 1000 miles the uneven tire wear is visible. Does anyone know if there are updated numbers for the alignment. Have an appointment tomorrow for an AWD System malfunction so I was going to add that to the appointment along with the uneven headlights. Figure it is best to document the alignment concern early since these tires are going to be trashed before the first year.

My latest alignment set at total Toe at .20. About 1000 miles since Toyota replaced tires. Have not measured yet, but visually still wearing outside of front tires. It is much improved - but still there.

Recorded caliper readings with tire replacement and alignment at Left outside - center - Right outside. Will take a look at it this weekend

Happy to see my service advisor was correct with latest spec. Had mine aligned again on Tuesday due to excessive outer wear. Total toe set to .20. Definitely drives better, faster meets crossed on tire wear.

Perfect, Thanks! They have had it all day with no updates. They agreed with the uneven wear so hopefully they fixed. Also hoping it will shift into 4wd without Christmas treeing the dash.

This is what Toyota corporate gave to my local dealer after I complained all year about my alignment.

Drove home in the dark Friday and parked it until today. These alignment specs are crap. Pulls to the right (had to turn off lane centering to be sure) and the wheel is off by about 3 minutes to the left. Frustrating because a simple test drive would’ve caught this.

Now they are keeping it overnight to drive it because it was out of alignment. Service advisor was asking me questions about when I noticed it out of alignment, could hear the tech getting defensive in the background. I told him a drove it on dirt to check out the 4wd system to which the tech said I was 4 wheeling in the desert and that was the problem. Had to correct him and tell him I was on a county road. I don’t think he thought I could hear him. Even if I was in the desert, isn’t that not something a Pro should be able to do without blowing the alignment out within 15 miles?

Back again for the 3rd round today. Still pulls and tires are still wearing unevenly. I’ll post if I get any setting worth a damn. Getting second key as well while I’m here. Asked to turn of engine noise and at first the SA said he didn’t think it could be down but for $65 they would try. Declined that generous offer.

my dealer did it for free. get a different service advisor. My first one was great helping me with alignment issues, and for all my troubles said they could turn off the fake engine noise in 5 minutes.

I do not have a pro but my local shop always puts toe at 0 degrees. All this shop does is alignments.
My Plat was done with 500 miles but I'm seeing feathering on outter edge of tires with 5500 miles. Lessens with higher tire pressure so not sure but having it re checked on the 10th.
I did adj the rear air suspension height after the first alignment so possible that could be the issue but we will see. I will share the results.

Too many toe and go mechanics out there!

    Just a general question

With all the alignment issues popping up, has anyone brought there Tundra to a reputable alignment shop and if yes, what were the final alignment adjustments?

With Toe at zero, pointing towards a Camber issue. Do you happen to know where the local shop sets camber?

I will take caliper readings on my Pro later today and update. Toyota replaced all four tires 6 weeks ago and aligned again to latest spec. Already seeing consistent outside edge wear on both Fronts. Back tires look great and still have the rubber tabs on them. Until later this evening with pictures

Here the latest attempt. Still pulls more than I like but they say nothing is wrong. I’ll have them look again if the tires continue to wear on the outer edges at my 5k service. IMG_6569.jpg

According to this document there are 12 different alignment specs for the non-TRD models, and 3 specs for the TRD-Pro. There isn't a one-size-its-fits-all spec.

As you can see, the different specs depend on Vehicle Ride Height, which can vary. Notice the toe and camber specs vary the most, and they have have fairly wide ranges. It seems most alignment shops don't account for these variances in ride height.

I'll be taking this with me on the 10th as the mechanic only uses this as a reference as you can see my document shows custom.

We will see what his thoughts are. We can agree the majority of shops pull up one spec and go with it. Maybe he can give me info on the hunter racks he has if it does pull up all the variables like you've shown. All of us have been victims of toe and go too or rack and back. I had a hand full of techs that actually did a full alignment and those who did not never got an order from me again. Toyota dealer efed me twice on my 2012 so got a refund and have been using hill city service.

Had mine corrected a couple weeks ago. The service advisor said the tech had to contact Toyota to get the latest specs. He said total Toe should not exceed .20.

Took about 500 miles to wear the tires to the new alignment, but the truck does not pull and the tires are very quiet now.

Anyone have the total toe not exceeding .20 in writing from Toyota? My dealership has basically said they can do no more and the next closest is over an hour away.

I have a 2023 Pro that just hit 5K miles, same issue on front tires. Local dealer is not aware of a problem with alignment on pros but granted I am in a small town and there are not many on the road here.

My question is for the people who have upgraded to a 35" tire, or a tire other than the factory wildpeaks: Are you noticing uneven wear in the front on the new tires? From all the research I am doing, it seems like these factory wildpeaks are just crap tires. I haven't seen anyone who has upgraded their tire complain of the wear problem yet.

Yes, the factory Mildpeaks, as they are referred to a lot, are a pretty crappy tire. They are very soft and wear easily. They are not the same as Wildpeak AT3W found at tire dealers, they were made just for Toyota to achieve MPG ratings with a much lighter tire. The 35s I have on now are wearing fairly even with updated specs, though I believe there's slightly more wear on the outside due to driving behavior.

The alignment on the Pro's has been talked about at length, we all have suffered from it. I would suggest taking to a different/non dealer alignment shop with the Wescott video on alignments, and maybe a few spec sheets from fellow owners that are floating around on this forum. I think the preferred spec is the toe at 0.20 and the camber to be under/or at 0.4 for the fronts.

So, I called and asked to speak to the service manager today and found out that they are aware of the problem, at least at my dealer. Without even asking she mentioned getting me new tires once they have my truck in and inspect the issue. She also mentioned that they have to actually take pictures and measurements of certain components to send to Toyota. I wanted to verify they had updated alignment specs, but she told me they have to open a case and wait for Toyota to advise them on what to do regarding the alignment, because their recommendation can change at any time... I expressed concerns over having to make a second trip because of "waiting for Toyotas recommendation" and she assured me it would be same day. So I guess I will find out next week. Truck is going in for my second fob, the tire wear issue, and the gas tank recall.
