Anyone have issues with their pet(s), be cat(s) or dog(s) with eating their pet food? Multiple reports about it but mine are fine.... Concerns will of course be there as it was some 50s cases. Wife is freaking out about it....

It is not confirmed at this time, but to answer your question...

Years ago I started out on pro plan. My dogs never adjusted to it and I switched to taste of the wild. My old girl is now on science diet and my younger one is still on TOW. After talking to other hunters and my vet, it turns out the mix was to high in protein for their day to day. I would later add it in on their hunt days to give them extra go go juice, but regardless of what they eat, they poop soft serve every hunt.

I would not hesitate to feed it again, especially for active dogs. People keep buying high protein foods and wonder why their lazy house dogs have gas and runny stool. If yours does not, I would not change.

My dog actually just started acting weird with his Purina Pro Plan Salmon food, went from super food motivated and drooling to eat not not interested or finishing it. Pooping less.
The vet said he’s just constipated give him more fiber so we’ve been adding more pumpkin and other extras than normal. Not sure if that’s related ha.

He started life on that Farmer’s dog stuff until we did more research. A friend recommended.

Maybe we’ll try another brand next bag and see if he feels better…

Correct. Again, unless cold hard evidences are presented to FDA, companies will continue to deny it.
I just don't wish that on anyone's fur babies, there is a reason we have them.
Mine are fine with the food they currently have, which unfortunately, is the only brand they will eat.
Wife, on the other hand, is freaking out about it and is demanding me to find something else for the cats to eat.....like that is going to happen.....
I watch my kids and pets very closely, wife, too. So I will know if certain food is/are making them sick/not well, but so far, nothing.
I hope this is just fake..... I am so done with the testing-and-trying-to-figure-out-what-they-want-to-eat phase....

No issues here with our pro plan and our Spinone. She gets a run 3 to 4 days a week and is a hunter. We use the Sport food.

I don't think she needs the performance especially with the season over but still gets a good dose of protein with the sport.

To be a smart ass, if it’s on tic Tok it must be true. Wouldn’t surprise me if they say, put a tide pod in it, your dogs will smell better and be static free.
I was a handler for 10 years, GOV would get us purina one. Dogs never had an issue. A couple had to be on special diets due to health issues but the rest were fine.
I feed my current border babies purina one lamb and rice. No issues. I do also give them meat leftovers, bones and all, only bones they don’t get is chicken.
As far as hunting, in AZ they’d catch ground squirrels, lizards and snakes. In VA a couple baby rabbits, mice, birds, and toads they play with. They have yet to catch the elusive tree squirrel.

To my defense, I didn't even check Tic Tok as I don't even have an account, much less desire to get one....
But had two friends that had pets sick after using Purina brand food.
I am not saying it is the single source of sickness, but the clash of sick/news was a tad, un-nerving, if you will.

Interesting. I thought you were just going off tic tok. I also don’t have an account. This site is my social media. I was not being a sick with the tic tok is true comment.
Are the friends with sick dogs close together? Did they get a diagnosis from vet? Wondering if they both got into something. Lots of plants that pets shouldn’t get near.
I have holly all over my yard, berries are poisonous. I had no idea. I was about to plant laural for a hedge. Turns out it’s poisonous too.

Two different friends in two parts of Houston, I mean, it is big, and they are 30 mins apart....
Drs withheld their opinion on it, but did suggest to try something else as well, per usual.
Then other friends were saying to ask Chewy to refund and all that, just more headache on top of what I have to deal with already is......sigh
But, if most are not having issues with the food then all the better. I am short of throwing my cats outside to catch squirrels, if they can ever.....lol

I would think if it was something in the food purina would issue a nation wide recall. I think nestle owns them and it would be a big hit to them if four legged children started dying. I’d think they’d get out in front of it.

funny, I started to Google/research this topic. Totally re-affirmed why I don’t do social media.

I agree, and I hope my friends are just separate incidents that are unrelated to that.

We used Pro Plan with our first dog for about 4-5yrs, then she started to have abdominal issues and come to find out it was the protein in the food, this was about 10yrs ago now. We switched to Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato and didn't have any issues and still continue to use it for our second dog even now. Not saying anything bad about Pro Plan, it just wasn't good for our dog and we just continued our second on Natural Balance instead of buying different food for each.

Too high a protien diet is not the cause of gas or diarrhea. I feed my husky a raw diet with zero grains or vegetables. She couldn't eat any kibble, I tried them all, without having very loose stools. Kibble itself is cooked at such a high temperature that most of the good stuff is gone and it all has to be sprayed with chinese imported vitamins. I believe that is the cause of most issues with kibble.

About 6 yrs ago when my GSP was a puppy he got sick off of a Diamond product after researching saw the movie Pet Fooled which made me prepare his food he now eats a raw diet. It is common that the dry food companies use 3D/4D meat.

I fed my dog the pro plan savor for about 7 years. She really liked it. It was a good food for her active lifestyle especially during hunting season. However the one thing I didn’t like is when she pooped it was always soft serve. She’s since gotten older and is retired so I switched to a different food and brand altogether. I noticed the pro plan savor she ate was starting to make her gain weight when she became less active so that was another reason I stopped. But other than the soft serve I had no complaints for several years. No health issues to speak of from her being on it either.
