Im currently running BFG Ko2s on Fuel Covert +1 offset on 5100s all over and really want to give shot to 6112/5160. I want to run the front on 3rd line and get 1.9 to level it ! Am I gonna fit 285/65R20 (34.6’ inch tire). I’m looking at Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T or Fslken Wildpeak A/T3W ! Thanks in advance!

Do it! I just installed 6112/5160 (the newer 5160 that come with the billet clamps) on the LOWEST setting to keep my daily driver "mostly stock". It rides amazing! Some may find the 650lb springs a bit stiff but I enjoy the reduced body roll and brake dive. I'm also a fan of the stiff feeling digressive valving that some find harsh, it can be a bit jarring at slow speeds but man, hit a huge g out or pothole on the interstate and it just eats it up. Has made the drivability of an old truck feel better than new without refreshing any other steering or suspension parts yet.

You'll fit, but getting up to that size you'll need to be prepared to do some trimming of the front bumper plastics as well as probably cut the cab mount back a bit if you want to maintain full articulation. I do really like the look of the 1.9" on a Tundra as well. I recommend bringing the back up just a touch as well though as a perfectly level Tundra looks a bit nose high IMO.

If you haven't sourced your components we're happy to help here at Hotshot Offroad as well. You can always give me a buzz too if you want to talk through things! 406-936-0206

The suspension upgrade is great. But you’ll never fit that size tire without substantial cutting. I’m running a 33” tire on a +20 wheel with the same suspension setup and had to do some trimming, cutting, and there’s still a little rub in reverse. I don’t see that size tire fitting easily

You might find adjustable coilovers better as it allows you to fine tune height on each front corner and adjust over time if you change tire sizes.

    Thank you !
I’m currently on 5100s in middle setting as I stated in the post and I used a heat gun and bend in the plastic and literally the is almost an inch space between the tire from both sides ! There is 0 rub anywhere on the 33s

I’ve being reading in other threads that a lot of people fit that size tire on the same set up or even lower without any issues !

I am running 6112's at the 1.9 setting with 33's. I had to cut and plastic weld the front portion of my inner fender to get an inch of clearance

Oh yeah fully understood, and good on you for not being afraid to move some stuff out of the way! Stepping up probably 1.5" in diameter just makes fitment a bit more interesting than you'd think is all. You can fit them, but just might have to be prepared to move a bit of metal if you don't want contact anywhere (it's an easy mod as far as steel cutting goes so don't sweat it). The +1 offset also doesn't do any favors as it relates to approach angle of the sidewall corner entering the wheel well. Making some assumptions about what your current setup is, here's probably what you'd be looking at. The overlay photo gives a lot of context to just how much bigger the rubber is.

Yes, I had read that also, but I still had to cut and weld. I believe it has to do with the offset of the rims. I tried just using my heat gun and molding it, but I ended up pulling them off and cutting them and plastic welding them

DO IT! You're already ready to go I can feel it. You just gotta be ready to make room which isn't a problem.

I'm personally running 295/70/18 on a +25 offset which is slightly smaller than what you're looking at. I was moving plastic, moving plastic... And then just daylighted it :anonymous:

I pulled the trigger on a set of 295/65-20 BFG All-Terrian TA, after installing 6112 and 5160. (2 days out)

I know I have some trimming to do, as I get the noise when backing up, in the mornings. Still need to get it aligned.

This is after installing the 6112 <top setting> and 5160 on 275/55-20. Then after getting the BFGs installed (cloudy day). <don't know if pic will show>

I ran (drew out) the differences between 275/65-20 & 285/65-20 & 295/65-20 or 34" - 34.5" - 35". I thought 1/2" increments, which was a 1/4" increase on top and bottom side. Same for the width, I increased the width by 3/4" going to a 295 from the stock 275. Here again 3/8" increase inside/outside. Enough to cause the rub (the 3" increase), but still the look I was going for.

I might go to the 3rd (1.9") setting, but don't know what a 0.6" drop will do with the 35s. Have not measured on a flat ground yet. Also, have to decide "if" it is needed or WORTH the time it takes. If it does not bother me, then.... No it is not worth the time.

YES, you can use the trucks weight to change the setting/compress the springs. Actually, all you have to do is (read up on it/watch the videos) is remove the top nut for the shock and lower the lower control arm. Lots of unbolt this and loosen that, and the lower control are drops down, where you can pull the spring and shock out, adjust it and then put it back in. Yes, there is a LOT of trial and error on the first one, but the second one is much easier. Saved me $300 to have them done at a shop. "OH..." and don't forget to look at the "What setting do you want them set on" when you order your 6112, or they come on the bottom setting... like mine. Nieve, not knowing how these get adjusted AND missing that "what setting" question. I would start with the 1.9" third setting, as I think the top 2.5" might have been too high for level w/ no other lift at the rear. (Maybe that is the answer- add 1/2" to the rear).

Thanks for the info mate ! Deffinatly I’ll get them and start from 3rd setting (1.9) and see where I’m standing ! After that the trimming and cutting will start Right now I have 33s and with 5100s on the middle setting (1.57”) and I had to heat ip the front bumper plastic and kind of bent it in and remove the factory mud flaps , because I have fender flares and I have roughly like 1 inch clearance from both sides ! We will see how it will work out ! First I’ll go with the Bilsteins and I have another 10k miles on the tires and get 34.6 tire !

I’m running the 6112/5160 combo and fit 295/70/r18 BFG KO3s on stock rims. I’ve had the billsteins for about 3 years before I swapped out the stock tires. They are solid all the way around and fitting a larger tire is a huge bonus. Big improvement over stock. Get them, you won’t regret it.

Shocked to see 6112 getting so much hate lately. Only 65k miles on mine.

What items are best that you used to do some trimming and cutting of the fender? I'm finding I need to do that as well but haven't yet determined what tool to use. I wasn't sure if something as simple as an exacto knife would be sufficient lol.

An Exacto knife will require a mountain of pressure to cut through OEM plastics. A sheetrock knife can do it, but I always recommend something like a Dremel or oscillating tool.

With Patience(be careful I sliced my thumb pretty good )a heat gun and utility knife, you can massage all the plastic fender liner out of the way, You could also use bumper shims to move your bumper out. A Dremel would work well. I used a Utility knife, heat gun and my plastic welder

I went from 5100s and stock rears after 55K miles, to the 6112/5160 combo and absolutely love it.

What’s the ride like off road?

I don’t go fast off road, relatively slow.
