When I start my truck, sirius connects through AA. Sirius starts playing. Yay.
But.... I got 3 months of "FREE" sirius when I bought the truck. Isn't that "free" sirius connecting through the Toyota Head Unit?
If I remove my phone from the truck, the sirius radio STOPS playing, so I'm guessing that it's connecting to sirius through my phone.
My wife is ticked because I went into a store, I left the truck running for her, but took my phone. Sirius stopped playing. She's not happy. Oops.
    Help?
Push and hold volume button to reconnect?

Hit the source button on the steering wheel until you get to XM. Or in the multimedia, hit Toyota app button in Android Auto, select the music menu, and select XM as your source.

    Lots of stuff!
I have an SXM plan so I get the satellite feed to the truck. I downloaded the app onto my phone and now I can play SXM in my older BMW that doesnt have SXM or carplay, it just connects through bluetooth. This is great to use but I have to have a cell signal for it to work.

I run the app in our other new car and it works great over bluetooth and Carplay. So for $6 CDN bucks a month I get it in all 3 of our vehicles :)

I’ve actually come to appreciate the CarPlay Sirius app is better than the native one in the truck. Just an alroind better experience

I may just cancel Sirius for my truck as we have a plan for our car without CarPlay and I can keep the app version for the truck.

Got my truck 3 days ago and still trying to figure out the radio. I'll have one song showing on the screen, but a different one playing. Dealer told me that Toyota free trial XM fights with my subscription XM for preference. On top of that, trying to figure out which buttons to change channels and sources. ggrrrrrr

Curious.. Does Sirius have an app on Apple Car Play? If so, doesnt make much sense to get it in the car anymore, I believe it's cheaper via phone

I've had that exact same experience.
I'm guessing that the two don't dance together too well. My phone seems to win 95% of the time as it connects to the truck and AA kicks in.
I think the engineers need to "do better".
It'd be nice if it's just a software update that could fix this - but hasn't this been an issue since the start of Gen3?
Why is this still an issue?

Right. I have Android Auto. Not sure about Apple car play
That being said, it would make sense that the "handshake" between the Toyota 'side' and the phone 'side' would *act* the same?

Yes there is a CarPlay app and it is a much better experience than the native one.
