    Hey all,

Thought I would post this. I'm a geek so I figured I would play around with these options and see how it goes. You will need the remote connect service that Toyota provides for $80/year.

    Alexa (Amazon Echo)
You can setup Alexa voice command (remotely start/stop engine & unlock/lock the doors. Go into the Alexa app on your mobile device and search for the skill "Toyota". Add your Toyota account password and create a 4 digit PIN. Anytime you ask Alexa for remote command, she will ask you for your pin. You can't customize the phrases but here are some:
Alexa, ask toyota to start the engine
Alexa, ask toyota to stop the engine
Alexa, ask toyota to start my truck
Alexa, ask toyota to stop my truck
Alexa, ask toyota to lock the truck
Alexa, ask toyota to unlock the truck

    Siri
Once you have the Toyota app installed and setup. You can search for an apple app called Shortcuts. Click the plus sign and search for Toyota. You should see 4 commands. Remote Start, Remote Stop, Remote UnLock & Remote Lock. There's a LOT of things to play around with. Essentially, you'll want to add all 4 of those shortcuts. Then rename them to fit your needs. Be sure to turn off "Show when run"

"Hey Siri, start my truck." Works with my Apple Watch & iPhone 13 Pro Max flawlessly.

I'm sure Google / Android has something similar with Google Assistant but to lazy to setup my Galaxy S10e to do so.

I want to add to this for the Siri Shortcuts functionality.
If you have other Siri devices, like HomePods, it will work from there as well.
I can shout in my house "Hey Siri, lock my truck" and she responds with "That's done." and the truck locks within a few seconds.

For some reason, the Toyota app is no longer able to be linked with Google to create this set up with the Google Assistance. While a slight annoyance, I just really wanted to tell google to start my truck haha. I'm not going to lose any sleep, but no, currently Google Assistance cannot do this. Perhaps it'll be re-enabled in the future.

I saved the start my Toyota as a home button and sometimes when I try to go to use it or the Toyota app it doesn’t open. Like it automatically kicks me out of the app. Not sure why. Maybe my keys need to be closer? :monocle:

I know this is an old thread but I have been trying to set up the Toyota account connection on the alexa app and there is no Toyota skill coming up to choose.

Does anyone know if this still works to remote start via alexa voice command?

Toyota discontinued the Alexa integration on October 23, 2023.

You didn't want the Alexa integration anyway. It was slow and clunky, especially with Amazon requiring a pin every time you wanted to use the commands. If you have Siri, use that instead. Much quicker and you can customize the command

We use Samsung phones so no siri. Is there another option for Android phones or maybe through Google?

I have the Samsung S23 Ultra with the Samsung Watch 6, you can do it on the watch which is quicker than messing with phone.

Hmm what app or how do you start with the watch? I don't have have a full smart watch just a garmin gps smart watch. It's not like it's really hard to just use the phone app, first world prollems. But the app is kinda buggy and my wife's always logs her out every time so she has to login then it's slow to load and mine logs out often too. Might be cuz we both use the same login as that's the only way I've found we can both have remote access. Just thought it would be easier for her to tell alexa or siri's sister for Google/samsung to start the truck.

I set this up on mine a while back. It was more of a “hey, look what I can do” sort of things. Still pretty fun though.

I have 2 Toyota's so both are loaded into my app. It looks like this will only work for whatever vehicle you have set as "default" in the Toyota app. I wish I could say "Hey Siri, Start my Van" and "Hey Siri, Start my truck".
