Prospective buyer here. Correct me if I’m wrong, 33s are the largest standard load tires available on the market. I don’t want to sacrifice weight and mpgs and go any bigger. Do 33s look bad on the factory lift, should I not order the factory lift and stick with the standard TRD off-road suspension? Stock seems low and lift seems more than I need. Anyone else wish they offered an in between height?

I had a bit of this dilemma also, but went with it and love the way it looks. I found the 275/65/20 recon grappler (34”) in standard load only 48 pounds and that’s what I did and love it!

one option for you might be to just do a “lift level” one of the products that just lifts the front end level with the back. They are much cheaper and are an “in between” perfect for a 33”. Some guys say the ride is rough though. Look up cornfedsuspension.com

33" Tires, Black Toyota Rims, TRD shocks

I ordered the shocks separately for under $600. I want to keep the stock UCA and axles. I'm thinking by keeping the front under 2" lift I will be ok. Leveling with 5100 shocks is pretty standard for most IFS Toyota trucks. The fact that these shocks are tuned for the Tundra lift kit that allows for a 33" tire is why I went with them. I'm just hoping they do not droop too much since they do extend an extra 2" vs original shocks. Anybody with more knowledge or insight would be great. I haven't found anybody else who has gone this route. I might have to be the guinea pig!

I should rephrase my question. What is the tallest standard load tires in 18” wheels? My research shows 33s, is there a 34? Seems like most run 34+ with the lift. Anyone run 33s?

Question. Are you able to fit 35’s without any other modifications with the trd lift kit?

My personal experience is you'll need spacers if using OEM wheels. Also will require pinning back the fender well carpet and front mud flap removal or trimming

I swapped out the sway bar drop brackets with the Icon drop kit (PN 55151)
I was having issues with rubbing the sway bar with 285/75 R18 with the TRD Pro BBS wheels (+47.5mm offset)

With the Icon sway bar drop kit I can now turn the wheel to full lock. I can also install my fabric skid plate over the sway bar. I'm going to attempt to re-install the air dam as well at some point since I still have the motor on there. I hope that the dealer who installed the kit gave me all the hardware back in the box they left me with.

The Icon spacers are 4 pieces. They're pretty symettrical. One long piece and one short piece for each side. There weren't any instructions but it was pretty straightforward.

    20240122_170240.jpg
It comes with 4 bolts and washers. The OEM stuff is 17mm. The kit comes with 19mm. They're shorter than the bolts that are in the TRD Lift brackets but longer than the bolts that are on a stock Tundra.

    20240122_165724.jpg
Removed the TRD Sway bar drop bracket...

    20240122_165759.jpg
Doing this myself I re-installed one bolt part way while I placed the spacers in on the drivers side.

    20240122_170508.jpg

    20240122_170505.jpg
I placed the Icon spacers in on the drivers side and then did the same on the passenger side. The longer spacer doesnt really seem to have anything that indexes it in place so I just tried to make it aligned as best as i could.

    20240122_172131.jpg
Final torque to 59 ft-lb. I chose this value from the TRD Lift kit manual.

    20240122_173325.jpg
Clearance with the Icon sway bar drop kit... I drove it around the block for a couple miles and I couldn't make it rub. It looks close but maybe it puts it in a different location such that the wheel travel doesn't allow it to hit the sway bar? I hope so...

Nice, glad this helped with the rubbing. It's funny their recommended 285 tire size on oem wheels seems to rub everytime. Looks like it changed the drop from maybe 3" to 1" ish. Just enough room for your tires.

I wonder why they dropped it so far with the kit. Do you need an alignment after moving the bar up? And was it super tight or feel like it was binding when you tightened the bolts back down?

When the vehicle is on the ground the sway bar has a ton of free play. Very easy to move it into place. The only resistance i felt was from the bushings in the endlinks. yeah 285's rub every time. I can't imagine how the folks with 35x12.5" are doing with the stock rims.

I just measurd the TRD drop bracket at 3 5/16", the icon spacer is 3/4".

Regarding alignment... i dont think so. hopefully someone corrects me if i'm wrong. my probably wrong understanding of the sway bar is to have the left and right suspension work together but still have some flex/compliance for the suspension to also work independently to an extent. i know for sports cars people use different stiffness sway bars to tune for more oversteer/understeer.

Yeah I wouldn't think you'd need an alignment but I've never really messed with sway bars before.

I just put my front air spoiler back on today. The dealer trimmed it for me and said I could put it back on but it needed a little more trimming around the trd sway bar brackets. You might not need to trim anything with those higher brackets.

You made me start thinking of switching to the icon drop brackets and just keep my 20" plat wheels since they match the MGM, but I do like having more rubber with 18's. Not sure my wheels would work still since they're +60 and yours looks like it's cutting close already.

It might be worth a shot... they're about $80 with tax.
Amazon.com: ICON Front Sway Bar Drop Kit, Compatible with 2022-2023 Toyota Tundra, 55154 : Automotive

I also ordered spidertrax wheel spacers but I don't think i'll be putting those on if i don't have any issues with the icon spacer. i should have waited before ordering the spidertrax.

Would you happen to have any pictures of how the air dam mounts? I haven't tried fitting it yet and i'm not sure how the brackets should install.

No pics of the brackets but there's a hinge on each side with a welded nut and use one bolt each, the ones with the washer on them. Then the motor is right in the middle and has two holes, use the other two bolts and go up through the spoiler into the mount on the motor which has threads in it.

You shouldn't need to deploy it down to mount it. At first I deployed it down and put the motor bolts through the motor into the spoiler before I realized it was backwards. Let me know if you still need pics, I can take some pics of how it mounts tomorrow if needed.

Ride quality with the factory TRD suspension is good? Significantly better than Westcott 3/1?

No comparison, I actually sold a '23 because it had the westcott / air suspension. Like riding a pogo stick.
Rolling on the factory trd 3" now, very nice.

I apologize if you already mentioned this, but which solution did you go with on the front sway bar? I’m hoping to run that same size tire in a yoko geo at hd on stock TRD rims.

Has anyone got the TRD lift and stuck with the stock tires for awhile, does it look stupid. Picture would be nice. Thanks

I still have the stock ones, not by choice but until I can afford new wheels and tires. It's been almost 2 months and it'll be a while longer since I want wheels and tires due to the sway bar rubbing with oem wheels. It honestly doesn't look as bad as I thought it would but it definitely could use that wheel well filled in.

My dealer just got another truck in like mine except with factory installed lift and they swapped out the tires for KO2's but I think only 1 size up 275/65/20, looks better with the BFG sidewall at least.

Well the tires seem to rub on the trd kit sway bar due to the oem wheel offset even with Toyota's recommended size of 285's. Unless you add wheel spacers. From what I've read dozens of times on here at least and lower wheel offset seems to be fine, like methods +18.
