I apologize if this has been answered, but I can't find a thread that addresses my issue. Here's what I've got going on:
Rhythmic Vibration, almost like a rumble strip or driving on grooved pavement.
    - Had tires rotated/balanced Road Force Tested
    - Most noticeable between 68-77 MPH/1600-1900 RPM
    - Audible, as well as feel it in the accelerator pedal
    - More noticeable under load (inclines or head winds)
-- Does not occur when going downhill
    - Occurs with and without cruise engaged
    - Occurs with A/C on and off
    - Occurs with turbo working engaged and when not
    - Occurs with auto stop/start on and off

The old shade tree mechanic in me thinks it's the transmission/torque converter, but the mechnic shut me down. I've taken it to the dealership several times and they have a case open with the engineers, but no idea what's causing it. The dealership de-activated the ANC/ENE, but it only helps drown it out, the noise/vibration is still there. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you primarily feel it in floor and console when put your hand on it you might consider the drive shaft as a source. At the speeds you have indicated, it has always ended up being bad tire balance or out of round tire on my vehicles. I will go to a different tire shop to rule out their balancing machine. Some shops don’t get them calibrated very often. So going back to rebalance at same place won’t correct the problem. Hope you can figure it out. I hate vibrations.

Edit your comment about it not happening going downhill makes me think driveshaft again or something in driveline.

Does it happen when in 4x4?

Honest question as it could be related to your front diff clamshell bearing.

The DS balancing weights are placed at front of the shaft and if one was thrown you will see where it was.

A tire place and the dealership road force test the tires. I don't feel it in the console. It's mostly audible and a little vibration in the gas pedal.

If it was the clam shell bushing it would do it in normal non 4x4 but not when in 4x4 regardless of speed.

While I haven't noticed this in my truck, I did have a rental SR5 while my truck was in for repairs. I noticed this exact condition in the rental and mentioned it to them when I returned it. They kinda shrugged it off.
The vibration almost felt like the truck was slightly revving, over and over while in cruise around 75-80mph, but i never saw the tac move while it was happening.

I have the same problem (2009 Toyota Tundra) but the vibration happens between 40 and 50mph. I just came from the dealer, I went through the back door and the mechanic told me I need a new transmission. Any ideas or advice on where to get one?

I've got the rhythmic vibration on the floor with the cruise control set between 70-80 mph. Truck has done it since new and I guess I've gotten used to it. Not sure what it could be since it only happens at the higher speeds. I don't notice it when I'm accelerating to pass someone and it doesn't change frequency much between 70-80. Kinda reminds me of my grandpa who used to drive with both feet and constantly surging the engine in his old Buick.

It goes away, or is not noticeable at ~77+.

With mine it goes away after 50mph, it is not noticeable after 50mph....but you hear the vibration between 40-50mph.

I have a long road trip this week. I will try to duplicate as I have noticed similar behavior once in a while, but I don't often get the opportunity to sustain these speeds.

Your description perfectly describes harmonic vibration that only occurs at certain rotational speeds. If it’s not your tires or wheels it has to be in the driveline. I had this in my 2001 and 2005 Sequoia. It never caused a problem. Still have my 2005 with 298k on it. It sounds like a low rumble with an ever so slight vibration that is almost not detectable. The frequency of the rumble goes up as speed increases. Mine goes away above 80 in my Sequoia.

I have noticed this as well. It happens when maintaining a steady highway speed, with or without cruise control. It definitely seems like a system resonance. In my years of drivetrain experience, these can be very difficult to diagnose as there are several rotating assemblies that can contribute. Without throwing parts at it to find the major contributor, it will be very difficult to find the cause. My guess is that most if not all of the trucks do it; some people notice it more than others. For me personally, I don't find it much of an issue. It's subtle and can be drowned out with even the smallest of volume on the radio. It doesn't seem like something that will cause issues down the road. More of a feature of the truck, like rear diff whine :notsure:

Not sure if this was asked, but was it vibrating with you non-winter wheel setup also?

I met with the Regional Technical Rep on 1 Feb 24 and we took it for a drive. He seemed like a really sharp dude; he actually keyed in on the noise as soon as it started, before I could say that is was doing it.
He said that it's a known issue, but they just don't know what the issue is. According to him, it's not limited to the 1794 or other models. If I understood him correctly, he has 46 documented cases of this in his region (MI, KY, IL, OH, IA, and possibly IN). He did mention that they may be zeroing in on the rear differential. I have an appointment to drop my truck off this week for them to do some additional testing. More to follow.

Following. I have the same issue with my 2023 limited Sequoia and now I’ve noticed the same issue with my 2023 limited tundra. Both hybrid. I’ve opened a case with Toyota but the idiot on the other side was eager to close the case and did so when my local dealer told him they could not replicate. Both my wife and I work hectic schedules so we are trying to address the sequoia first then I’ll move on to the tundra. It’s sad that we spent over 140k on Toyotas as we never expected this. I’ll try to get it addressed at the dealership but if they insist that it’s normal, we will seek legal action.

Just to add, I will attempt to obtain a specification sheet with vibration tolerance for the interior of these vehicles. With the little research I’ve done, I have discovered that this may be an issue with Toyota hybrids including the Camry, Prius, sienna and even the new Tacoma. One Tacoma driver said his new Tacoma was vibrating on the way home from the dealer.

Update (not really): the Regional Technical Rep took my truck out for ~60 miles yesterday to collect sound/vibration . He compiled the tests data with his notes and sent to the respective Toyota Program Engineer. If I don't hear back within a week or so, I'm going to reach out to an attorney to explore my options under the Lemon Laws. Will update this post if anything of significance changes.

A lot of people have this vibration issue with the tundra and sequoia. A class action law suit would be a viable option if they don’t try to rectify this issue. I’m taking my tundra in on Saturday. Will post the outcome here.

Let’s not give them time to fix it while under warranty, let’s circle the wagons and sue their faces off lol.

Depending on the state, Lemon Law protection only lasts for 12 months/12,000 miles, so waiting for 36 months/36,000 miles doesn't make sense. Additionally, class is sometimes the only recourse (pooling resources/claims).

I had the exact same noise/vibration and it was the left rear wheel bearing. I was sure that it wasn't because when I swerved the truck from left to right to unload the bearing the noise did not change.

I’m not gonna lie. That rep from corporate pissed me off because of his eagerness to close my case and I wanted to go straight to an attorney but I want to allow Toyota to fix the problem and avoid the headache of a lawsuit. I love my tundra and sequoia and without the vibration, would sincerely enjoy these vehicles. I just can’t stomach spending over $70k on a vehicle that vibrates like this. I’ve never been so disappointed in buying a Toyota.
