Magnum is hands down the best cleanest not obnoxiously bulky front bumper. Provides loads of room!20230304_154139.jpg

I like this bumper quite a bit, I don't have a winch, and the C4 bumper posted just below it.

Would these bumpers be compatible with my RCI skid plates?

Does anyone have a breakdown of how much assembly and welding is needed for the coastal off-road bumper?

Having done them before I allow around 4 hours to open packaging, remove factory bumper and associates items no longer needed and fit up of bumper. 8 hours to fully weld And finish grind for paint. Not sure if that helps or not. If it's a first welding project double if not triple those times and good luck! It's very rewarding building them yourself but they're alot of work

Ive always liked and wanted a C4 bumper but @BashFab is giving them a run for the money. Once I get the extra cash to throw at my bumper, I'm really liking the looks and functionality of this a lot. A whole lot.

Sorry, this is the only good picture of my new bumper so far lol. Recently installed this Amazon bumper and it has improved the look so much. My Tundra looks so much more aggressive than before, and I now have a better approach angle when wheeling!

I'm sure its been talked about before in here but for those that don't know Coastal Offroad has a front WIY plate bumper available for the 2nd gens which comes in 1/4" aluminum or 3/16" steel and has several options including body lift adjustments, parking sensor/light cut outs and grille tubing. These are very well engineered bumpers that can stand up to all the abuse.

If anyone is interested in picking one up use code "SOCALTOYOTAS" to get 5% off your order. No expiration date or limited uses on this code

We are also working with the owner (who has a Tundra of his own) to make a rear bumper for you guys. It won't be done in time for the group buy sadly but it will be coming out and I believe it will have a swing out option just like all other Coastal rear bumpers do363335452_991942288433862_1021541302389482042_n.jpg 426934938_18321636874185237_1256725160194899186_n.jpg 12-DSC02853.jpg 409797114_18313496662185237_3571470770630540655_n.jpg

Easily distracted, I guess: Studied this thread then ran off playing with RC Tundra and Stinger boat, radio installation, Banks Pedal Monster, tire pressure system, etc.

I'm back, and made my choice:
Demello Offroad Winch Plate insert (2007-2013) with a Warn Zeon 10-S Platinum winch. I like the stealth look and have no intention of off-road bashing. The winch will be a much needed tool which will also be 'out of sight / out of mind' when not in use.

Order ahead because they make it just for you when you order and powder coating and shipping takes a bit. Unboxing is fun!

I hope tearing apart and reassembling my perfectly good truck will be as easy.

    ...

    Warn_Zeon-Platinum-10S.jpg

(Haven't unboxed the winch quite yet ;))

    DO-Winch-plate-bumper.jpg

(I also ordered the Baja Designs LED light pods, yet to be unboxed.)

Coastal Off Road was my other choice for the front bumper. The insert plate just made more sense for my purposes and intentions. If / when a Coastal Off Road rear bumper is available for a 2nd Gen Tundra (2007--2013), it will be high on my list of wants.

Well I don't know when that will be or if we will have a group buy happening then but if not I do have a 5% off code (SOCALTOYOTAS) that never expires

They are next door to me. Thanks for the 5% code. Pisses me off that as a Canadian I have to buy shit in Canada in US dollars at
a 30% exchange! But prices are competitive and I won't have to worry about shipping.
That being said it's the perfect low profile offroad bumper I'd like.
Read his BLOG: How to fit 37" Tires on a stock Tundra. Unbelievable but he lays it out in easy to follow instructions on how to
make those big tires fit without rubbing and clearanced fenders! I won't go to 37" but I want 35's to fit and it's nice.

Thanks, just a Canadian rant. Not the only company that basically 98% of their customers are from lower 48. I think he does offer
Canadian dollar equivalency. If it makes anyone from US think, his prices are lower than any other single lower profile winch
bumper I've come across on this forum.
Ironically I've worked in the US primarily for the last 24 yrs, but don't get paid in US dollars. I finally get home next week after 2 months. I'll head over and have a face to face with
whoever is there. I really want to see that RCSB up close as it's identical to mine. Fingers crossed it's there when I get there.
I do appreciate your noticing and offering your help. J

Good news, they have a Canadian website (coastaloffroad.ca), you can use it with no conversions, and I have a discount code ("t4r5") for you! Free pickup is also available on the website

The RCSB belongs to Brandon, the owner. If you put in the notes that you would like to see it during pickup and give them a date I'm sure he'd happily drive it to work that day. I know he loves that thing.

They don't have it on the website, but if you are in the market for sliders they do have the design finished (and well tested) for the RCSB's. If you are interested in those I can ask Brandon how we can get you a set

You Sir, are a Gentleman!! Can't thank you enough for your help. I'm finally getting home tomorrow after almost 2 months
on the road. Rancho Cordova is nice, but it's not BC mountains!
I'll drive over to Vancouver soon and drop a line. Thanks for Brandons' name. Always nice to make new connections
and be able to support local guys with good products. I'll take a hard look at the sliders, but the bumper first! I'm to be going slow on money.
I've got a Toyota 12HT getting rebuild this winter, that won't be cheap! And I need diesel to get me to the Yukon in September.

Albacore tuna season is about to kick off. Last night, I replaced the 48 frame condenser fan motor in my ice machine. Summed up this morning then loaded the Demello Plate and Zeon 10S Winch and headed to mom's shop where there's room to stretch out tools and parts.

The Demello Plate instructions are for whatever has a chrome bumper (SR5?). My 2008 Tundra Limited is color matched plastic/rubber. Still, nuts and screws were as instructed and disassembly was mostly uneventful.

My bumper has no fog light support brackets. So, there's no use for the pretty brackets supposed to go in from them at 45 deg to the main plate's center section (behind the spot light holes).

Regarding the spots: The Baja Designs pods are a bit undersized for the holes and the brackets locate them too far back for my taste. As well, they won't center in the holes without bracket modification, including drilling of the Demello plate mounting slots: Opening a larger hole in the center of a slot will be problematic. Wish they'd left the plate blank without mounting assumptions.

On that note, the Warn Zeon 10S has a 4.5" x 10-1/8" mounting pattern [EDIT: Warn manual does say 10"x4.5"... but, the holes had to be whittled nonetheless], and the Demello plate holes were only 10", the lesser reason to run back home for my die grinder tool.

The greater reason is that the Zeon 10S Winch would not fit without whittling out some material from the inner cross bracing... Heavy duty stuff requiring the right tool: a die grinder. Removed 1/2" from the bottom and about 1/2" from the front. Ahh... Just right!

I painted the bared areas with Rustoleum semi-gloss black: Fortunately, none of the whittle-work will be exposed to full view. Pictured is after a 10 hour day, mostly being tenacious about it...

    2008 Tundra-DemelloPlate-Zeon10S.jpg

    2008 Tundra-Demello-Zeon-10S.jpg

Tomorrow, I'll tackle reassembly. On that note:

The rearmost outer corners protrude such that they prevent re-installation of the factory tow hooks without spacers (a stack of washers is in poor taste - though it'd suffice short of lifting the truck with 'em). Cut the corners of the plate and they wouldn't be in the way.

Instructions suggest cutting the bumper for clearance. What needs to clear are the spot light pentagon outer points... if they were round, clearance wouldn't be a problem. Since my bumper is plastic, I can cut a V with nippers. (If yours is chrome, a V with a cut off wheel would be better than taking out a 2" section.)

The final hurdle (I don't see a clear 'way-round-it' yet) is that there's no means to attach the inner lip of the bumper to the plate. If that isn't resolved, the bumper will likely flop in the wind. It should be fix-mounted for tenacity sake, at least. Finally, I'm reluctant to cut the tabs (upper and lower) shown below, but suppose it must be done...

FYI: Just in time for this demonstration, I see Demello Offroad is offering a sale on this winch plate. Despite my little issues above, I'm sure the final result will be worth it!

Oh... I have LOTS of ICE tonight.

Reminds me of having to modify the bumper I bought for my Land Cruiser, I got one of the WARN compressor winches.
Giant beast of a thing, but it's been my savior more times than I can count! I had to really hack and grind that
winch bumper to get it to fit, but I figure it just gives it more personality!

Got my coastal off-road bumper all finished. Probably took about 20-24 hours from start to finish. I did all the work myself including paint. Used spray max primer and 2k hot rod black rattle can paint. Of course with any project I do, there are a few things I wish I could’ve done better and taken more time on but doing anything with work and family is a challenge.

The Coastal Offroad bumper is a DIY project - not for the timid - and that's some nice weld-work!
Since it took me 10 hours just to install a bumper (and winch), it took only 12 or so to fab and paint yours to taste.
    Bravo!
