So I just realized the other day that littlw AK will grow up not knowing what cassete tapes or VHS tapes are. She'll look at DVDs and Blu-Ray as the antiquated media format that I have hoarded in drawers under the TV...

 

that and other things they're going to miss without realizing they're missing it

 

my eye started twitching a bit when i see this. mostly when i saw the stuff about "see xyz" because i look up one thing, get sent to another, just to be sent to another.

 

They still toss those on my driveway...

 

I used the last one as fire starter. Granted it's not very thick so it didn't last long.

My 6 year old asked me yesterday, "Mommy said the song I like was on a CD...what's a CD?" and I almost fell out of my chair. I remember thinking that was some sort of magic when they first came around and my kids won't ever really know.

 

Same. Not as thick as they used to be but make great fire starter.

How about actual records...

 

My parents had those when I was a kid in the early 90s. Dunno if they still have them. Vinyl has made a comeback, but mainly with the hipster and music loving crowds.

 

My brother has our dad's old record player and records, plus a bunch of newer records of his own.

 

When I was a very young boy I had Elvis Presley collection and then the Beatles collection all on vinyl. So different than what I choose now days but always enjoy listening to the old stuff now and again LOL

 

I have some still

 

Moms house still has one of these.

 

One wall of my 19year olds bedroom walls

 

My son went to work as one of my techs over his summer break. When he came home he brought us this.
