Interesting tidbit about not washing often…

I was told not to wax period or use 2 in 1 waxing washing solutions on my ceramic coating. Washing often is not a problem with soap designed for ceramic coat. I do many waterless washes a month. My truck has been coated for four years. And it looks and works great…very expensive though.

Reminds me of when I had the cam tower repair done. When I got it back, I saw some of the wiring harness clips were broken and they didn't replace them. So some wires weren't secured to the engine/firewall. I called and told them I wanted them replaced, they said no. That they'd have to order all new wiring or something like that. They won't just do the clips. Nothing zip ties won't fix, but shouldn't have to do that for warranty work - or any work done for that matter. Fucking lazy cheap bastards.

Ceramic here is over $2500. If someone is only paying $700-800, I'm doubting the product used.

I paid 1300 during the middle of Covid. $800 is very cheap…. The place I had mine done showed me the amount of prep that had to be done. It was extensive and I have a warranty on mine. They had my truck for 3 straight days and my truck rolled off the dealership lot the week before.

Same. Non perfume / non wax soap. No drive through washes. I also use beadmaker after each wash. Paid 3k for my paint chips to be fixed, minot dent(s) pulled, ceramic coating done, and ppf on my headlights. To me it was worth it.

I plan to get the dealer installed crap ppf off my hood and door sils (I bought the truck used). Then have my truck done again.

I did the PPF on my headlights only.

The only two products I use at home are CarPro Ech2o and Optimum no rinse and shine with distilled water inside a spray bottle.

When I get lazy I use this hand wash place that uses ceramic safe soap as well.

I would find a good local mechanic (not a lube shop) to do your oil changes, it will cost you more for sure but it will be done right. Or like you said do it yourself. I’ve been burned once and I do all my own. But I’m getting tired of doing it on 4 vehicles in my driveway.

Funny, I click on that and the Jungle site says it does not fit my '21 Tundra.

    I'm sure it does.

Because it wasn't "made" for the Tundra at all so it doesn't officially fit since it wasn't offered by Toyota for our vehicles. But it does fit.

I stopped going to the local shop for oil changes... they have a brain dead relative do the oil changes. I was in the shop BSing with the other guys when I saw him install my skid plate with a Milwaukee 3/8 impact. Wouldn't be a big deal if you first start the bolt with your fingers... but he didn't and cross threaded the one I watched him do... and apparently, he had already hosed a couple others... I was a little hot... and still am, just typing this has my blood pressure going up.

Most "quick lube" shops have such a high turnover rate with their employees and they just don't care anymore, also doesn't help that most of them are on drugs and/or in school and have no idea what they're doing

This was the issue at the place I went to. First few trips the faces were familiar. Then they weren’t. ‍

Finally got off my lazy butt and trimmed the lame-o factory “skid plate” that my tires were rubbing at full lock.
Well, had one of my techs do it for me…

Ha! No doubt. He actually did put on his safety glasses.. which are about the size of those old “biker” sunglasses KD’s.

Dropped off BBC (Big Black Carl) yesterday and picked him up today.
I have to say, I am very impressed with the fit and finish of the ARE CX topper so far.
The color match is pretty good but looks a little darker than the truck. That could be because the truck has been outside for 6 years in the sun.
Looking down the side of the truck, it looks like its a OEM part.... that's how well it fits.

Ok guys- I know most have seeing these upgrades thousands of times, so I apologize upfront … but started with finishing the LEDs on the exterior- third brake light, license plate and puddle lights as well as changed out all the interiors to LEDs too.
Next up will be the TRD Grille, Chrome Delete all exterior- also received the fender flares today, but I’ve decided to paint match them and will have to wait a few weeks for it to warm up before I can paint. I will hold off on the next update until I’m done!

How hard was it to separate the bumper once you had all the screws off? I couldn't pull it apart. It was like it was frozen on or something. I only have 25000 miles on my 2018 so its not like its rusted on or anything like that.

Shouldn't be that hard. You are removing the nuts (4 per side) not removing screws.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    as promised

<...I posted this in the S/C thread also, so pardon the duplicate.>

    S/C related oil crap.

the oil on the right is 0w-20 - this is back when I had the S/C installed (how time flies!). dyno pulls, etc.
the one on the left is 5w-30. it has 5k miles of the 77.5mm pulley.
The ole girl still burns ZERO oil.

    read 'em and weep boys.

5w-30 has LESS wear!? (clutching my pearls)

Costco oil is GTG. 5w-30 is VGTG
I searched for similar Amsoil reports & found a couple...decided not to post them here as the comparison is profound.
And you never want to lather up the Amsoil boys.

Very easy. Tough to access the nuts with various length sockets and ratcheting wrenches. But once the nuts were off, just a little muscle pulling it forward released it from the truck frame easily.
I only removed the nuts from one side and left 1 nut still threaded on the other side 1/4” so the whole bumper won’t fall off the truck. This way you can just do one side at a time without pulling entire bumper off.
