Saw this a while back near the Poudre Canyon. Inspiring rig. Payload looks sketchy though! ;)

I had seen a few of these for sale when I was looking for my Airstream (Mostly through FB Marketplace). I believe it's a Spartan Mansion. I liked the layout and can appreciate it's design.

Edit: Probably a Manor as I'm now seeing the size differences.

After a few months of looking we finally decided on a new trailer and are working on closing the deal. Expecting to drive over to TX and pick this guy up in a few weeks:

Its a left over new 2022 so its heavily discounted. Going to be a nice upgrade from our teardrop and still small enough to store at home...but don't tell my HOA
Planning on making a few stops on the way home and breaking it in.

Is it as good in the cold as they say? we would like to camp throughout the seasons in near future, I have my eyes on Backcountry 20BD

That's a nice looking RCSB, you rarely see them in Ontario anymore.

As far as the walls, windows and ceiling, it performs fine in winter. Been snowed on several times, temps down to the low teens and single digits, no issues. As far as the tanks and what might be the weak points for freezing, I’m still learning.

the main thing I’d suggest is adding rust protection for the frame/undercarriage from day one.

Just picked up this 2012 Shamrock 19 coming from a '94 Starcraft PUP.
Edit: is there a trick to getting the TBC to work? I set it up for Electric 0-4999 lbs, but couldn't adjust the gain or use the slide.

I believe a year or two had issues with the included controller but my first guess would be a problem with the camper.

I remember having the TBC reflashed the dealer. I'll have to do some digging in on the trailer.

So I finally saw one of the fancier off road travel trailers up close, it was a Pause, I don't recall exact model but it was a tandem axle set up.

Is it me or it doesn't seem to be worth the money? it's pretty pricey, MSRP I think was nearly $190k Cdn, cash price was $150k, still have to add 13% taxes.

I get the chassis was alloy and everything seems nicer than our Microminnie, but now I have 960aH of battery (that's almost 12khw), it has more fresh water capacity and grey/black, really cool air suspension but everything else just seems it'll break.

anyone here has one and think it's worth it? I had a real hate/love relationship with ours last summer due to the electronic issues, I was thinking may be an upgrade but now after seeing one, I don't see the attraction.

It had alloy cabinets, which felt nice, but there were a lot of electronics, i.e. the bed was moveable, the whole air suspension was adjustable, you could even have the toilet that burns poop, which I'll be honest I've never seen before.

But yea, the price really threw me off, you can buy a brand new Tundra + mods + a new trailer.

They still had lots of same components, the wall felt solid, but then the tongue weight was almost 1000lbs, so you gotta have a 3/4 ton just to tow it.

I have no trouble believing they are better. I own a Grand Disappointment...I mean Design.

GD rigs are built like shit! I'm constantly repairing and improving our 3 year old 5th wheel.

150k vs my 45k is a stretch, but I understand it. I bet 100 of my GD rigs are built vs 2 of those spendy rigs.

Brinkley is a company to watch. Picking up where Grand Design dropped off. Only in the fifth wheel segment right now, though. We were lucky enough to get a Feb 2020 built GD and have zero issues. Pre Pandemic is key.

The RV Geeks were (maybe still are?) testing the Pause. They seem to like it, but I think it comes down to usage. An actual off road camper for overlanding and such, then it's probably a deal. For the average camper, not worth the money.

Example: terrible New England roadways would leave us with things thrown all around inside the rig. Even lost a TV because the TV housing itself broke all around the mount. Also lost a kitchen drawer because it opened during the drive and pulled the rail screws out. Since installing the CRE3000 suspension, everything stays in place now and we've had zero issues. The air ride would be wonderful, but for roads, there are cheaper options.

I've been getting a lot of mixed info regarding a WDH. I have a Reese system that has the chains and separate sway control. I'm looking to go to an Equal-izer. Camper is a '12 Flagstaff Shamrock 19. I haven't gone to the scales yet, but sticker says it GVWR of less than 5k lbs. Pin weight is 370lbs. I'm thinking the 600 or 800 WDH from them would be sufficient? Or does it even need it and just use a hitch with sway control?
