I was considering trading my current Tundra for a new one, and although there are MANY things I liked about the 2024 that I drove, I have to admit I like my 5.7L V8 more than the new turbo V6. Just a personal preference on my part; I’m sure the new engines are excellent.

That being said, I’ve decided to keep my 2019 and when the time comes, replace the engine with a remanufactured one (or a used one with low miles from a junk yard).

So my question is: Do you have a recommendation for a company that I can order an engine from? I’m more concerned about quality and warranty than I am about cost.

    Thank you.

If cost isn’t an issue source from Toyota. They make you buy the heads separate but it’s all new.

Never run low on oil, that 5.7 should last 1 mil miles…

Thanks, I spoke with the Toyota dealer and it was cost prohibitive. Somewhere around $31K if you can believe that.

How many miles on your 2019 5.7?? This 5.7/6spd is a proven powertrain that will last a load of years/miles.

I love the planning for the future, but isn't it also cost prohibitive to be planning for an engine swap already??

Seems high but you’ll be around $15-20k for parts.

Everything else is a roll of the dice. :hattip:

If needed now I’d go with low mileage wreck motor. 20 years from now who knows. Always Jasper. :D

I gotta ask OP, did you own a GM before you got your Tundra? These trucks don't routinely need motors replaced. Strange line of thinking around here...

I think your $31k price is for the new TTV6. With so many 5.7 engines built there should be good availability for many years to come in the used auto parts market.
