    I'm not interested in hearing comments about wearing the seatbelt. I spend a lot of time on a large cattle ranch and am constantly getting in and out of the vehicle for gates and working on things. I cannot handle the excessively loud seatbelt chime! From what I understand turning it off is no longer possible, so where can I get a dummy clip?

    It is not true that you can not turn it off
    I did it on mine , same situation as you, with a Carista little gadget
    Goggle it a little and you will see few extra things that you can manage with that.

    Well, what I meant was the user cant turn it off with the factory settings or switches and I've heard the dealers wont turn it off if you ask. I'd rather not have to buy a gadget.

    I'm pretty sure others have purchased seat belt extenders on Amazon.

    Is this Carista thing easy to use? Or do you need apps and stuff? I have a serious allergy to techy gadgets.

    "Dummy Seatbelts"?! :eek::eek2:

    How dare you?!

    Any and all of your passengers should be afforded equal levels of protection and safety, regardless of their intelligence level!!

    Perhaps even moreso actually... Why, they gave me a seat belt AND a helmet on that little short bus.

    I'm not overly techy, but I was able to easily use the Carista OBD 2 connector and app to shut my seat belt alarms off, as well as the fake engine noise. I also made a tweak to improve the functionality of the HVAC system.

    It took maybe 10 minutes total.

    I'm about as anti-techy as you can get and I managed to turn my seatbelt chime off with the Carista dongle and trial month service app.

    I bought the dongle on Amazon, downloaded the app and followed the instructions. No more nanny feature.

    Now if I could just figure out how to override the sensor that doesn't let the truck drive with the door open, I'd be a happy customer!

    It's not really a gadget. It plugs into the truck, you connect your phone to it, shut off the stuff you don't want, then up plug it. The Toyota dealer basically does the same thing with another " gadget".

    I shut off all seatbelt chimes, make sure you do the back seat as well / changed my ambient temperature to -2 ( AC works WAY better ) / changed lane blinks from 3 blinks to 5 which is nice for towing / turned off the stupid fake engine noise / ensured the ANC is ON.

    There are multitudes of stuff at your disposal , I stuck with the basics. It is simple to use, if you are not techy, find a 15 year old.

    My dealer had turned them off every time I've asked.
