Come to west Texas with your new truck and get pinstriping for free!
All you have to do is drive down old lease roads and scrape against any mesquite bush you see!

Just look at the results on my truck! 10/10 would do again.

All jokes aside, this isn't this trucks first scratch and won't be its last. I just had a guy point out the new scratch and asked where I got my new pinstriping.

I also added some character to the truck roaming around Deep Lake in Colorado on tight jeep trails. The first few pin stripes hurt (that screech noise...), but glad to get that all out of the way so I can use the truck as intended without the guilt now.

Agreed, I've had plenty of light scratches, but this one was the first real deep one. It stared at the headlight and stopped at the tail light.

That the least of this trucks worries. Day 1 busted the front bumper on a washout in north Texas, and ripped off the rear bumper going through a dry creek in South Carolina.

Taking pride in molesting a new vehicle is such a strange concept to me.

And, yes, I do "truck stuff" with mine, too, but I still like keeping it looking nice.

Atleast for me, I don't purposely try to screw stuff up, but it's going to happen. Instead of being upset, I might as well make a bit of a joke out of it. My bumpers have been fixed, and the scratches can either be buffed out or painted over one day.

Everything is fixable so I have fun with it.

I hate it, but it was either do the trails and get to the where the pics below were taken or turn around. Wasn't a tough decision. Sharing stupid pics on the internet is my old reward.....

One scratch and I feel the truck is ruined.

Go see/do cool stuff. If the truck gets banged up along the way, so what?

    Yup, only cosmetic.

But, I suspect one of the reasons my 2015 Tundra, with 145K miles, had a much higher trade-in value than your 2022 is because it was in great cosmetic and mechanical shape.

There's no right or wrong answer. You do you, and I'll do me. Can we still be friends? :)

The deal is, this isn't a trail truck, i use it for work to drive cross country multiple times a year. I just go on my adventures where ever i am for work, and the truck does its job taking me on those adventures.

I needed something reliable, and half decent mileage, (that's why I don't have a lift and big tires). I would love to have a trail pig, but I can't do it right now.

I looked at a few 20-22 tundras, but I was going to pay the same for them as I did for this one. So me and the wife decided to get a new truck. Also the new ones are way more comfortable for the seat time I have to put in.

This is what I take when I go serious off-roading. It will go places my Tundra can't, and it takes a damn tight trail to pinstripe her.

No, I needed the extra payload for tools and materials, so a taco was too small and couldnt pull enough. Plus I camp in the bed when I go out, so the wider bed is appreciated.

Also, I'm not worried about the paint, if it won't buff out, I'll have it touched up at a paint shop. All of my previous trucks got scratched up on branches and bushes. This truck isn't going to get any special treatment.

I'm not doing serious offroad stuff like rock crawling. I go on trails that are fairly established, the occasional dip and bump are what gets this truck, with its pretty poor entrance and departure angles.
