“Hub-Centric” Rings

• My dealer said that I don’t have “hub-centric” wheels and said I needed a ring. What size, you can tell, can anyone recommend I get? Link would be great. 18inch KMCs

Also, how much of an issue is this. Brought my truck in originally to have wheels balanced after going off-roading and noticing a shake.

 

Wheels are usually hub or lug centric or like OEM, both. Call KMC and see what they tell you. I remember long ago wheels would bring a centric ring already if it needed it.

 

I purchased these hub-centric rings for the Method Wheels I put on my truck:

The 3rd gen Tundra hub bore is 95.1mm, so depending on your wheel's hub bore you will purchase the correct hub-centric rings

 

Best option is to buy wheels with the correct center bore and sell what you have to help fund or maybe fully fund the purchase. The wheel bore and the hub diameter can both be measured with a sliding caliper tool, one side is for outside diameter, the other is for inside diameter.

 

Is there any potential damage to the vehicle if I don’t get the rings or replace the wheels as you mentioned?

 

I’m guessing you had the same or similar issue with the wheels you purchased, correct? Is this a viable fix for wheels that aren’t necessarily made for your truck but you want to put them on anyways?

 

If you consider broken lug studs an issue, you should get the situation addressed quickly.

 

Many wheels are designed to fit many vehicles so they make the hub size large. Buy some rings. It’s an easy/cheap fix.

 

The wheel center bore is 106.25 Will these work?

 

Did you not get rings with the wheel purchase? Anytime I e purchased non hub centric wheels (tirerack.com) hub rings were included with the wheels.

 

Ironically I bought them off my dealer manger and I didn’t know anything about needing them.

 

They should work just fine, that is the same hub bore as the Method wheels I have on my Tundra.

dealer should have known, and provided rings.

 

Can someone post up a link to some plastic hub rings? 95.1mm to 106.25mm Going to use these with my Method 318s, only ones I can find are aluminum.
