    Too many mods to come

    Easy peasy. Appreciate it!

Threw in the new wheel bearings today. Extended studs arrive tomorrow. Didn’t want to reuse my old ones.

Cheap, convenient that it’s in Costco, online testing shows it comparable to Mobil 1.. what’s not to like?

Use it in both Tundra and 4runner.

Got tired of the hood bulge popping out. Bolted the SOB down. Went through many different retainer clips, even the green recommended ones. They all failed.
This is what it looks like from inside the hood, it’s aftermarket but should be the same for oem. Bolts were a little long but I’ll eventually get around to cutting off the excess.
    IMG_3225.jpg

four 6” 1/4-20 hex bolts and one 5” 1/4-20, all I had lol but it works. Things pretty solid now. No more dealing with dumb clips.

Dual Magnaflow exhaust, Bakflip MX4, Taylor's Audio amp, speakers and subwoofer for Tundra JBL.
I just received my Hertz door speakers from Taylor’s Audio. Planning to install them this weekend.

Had the dealer perform a transmission fluid flush today. They made me sign a waiver that they wouldn't be responsible if my transmission failed after the service, weird. They were concerned that my 195k truck wasn't going to like it, seems to shift fine after. I did a full change on my Sequoia at 315k (factory fluid) and it worked out well.

Did you glue the bolts to the hood bulge?

no glue, wanted to have free movement in the bolts for easier mounting. just slotted the bolt heads into where the clips would go, the hex head is large enough to hold but a washer can be throw in too.

No different... he slid the hex head where the clips slide into.

yep, no different from normal. I didn't want any bolt heads sticking out.
had seen one where they just ran self tapping bolts from the top of the hood bulge down into the hood and another where I guess they just drilled holes top to bottom to put screws with anodized countersunk washers, but I didn't like that too much.

Substantial improvement. They really are tuned properly for a tundra. On highway and high speed driving the truck felt planted and comfortable. Slow driving it was a bit soft around town and the truck had more noticeable sway.

Off road they were really good at first and the truck really felt much more capable and had better travel. Pretty plush ride slow or fast off roading. I’m hoping this install takes my truck back to that or better. They’re toast now and driving my truck is miserable. I’m planning to get them rebuilt and put them back on if I don’t feel the Bilsteins are an upgrade. From what I’ve read, they will be.

@InfernoBoyz How many miles are on the Fox suspension? My Fox 2.5’s on my GX had 100k and still felt surprisingly good.

previous owner claimed 20k. I have at least 40k with tons of off roading fully loaded and towing. I know the previous owner off roaded as well with a rack/tent set up. Under my use case, 60k seems about right. They claim to last 60k.

I do not know a huge deal about suspension setups, but that is exactly what I am planning on getting when the budget allows. Are the single shims standard (I can see there are two on the driver's front)? Or are they coachbuilder shims?

Do those shackles rattle and bounce around? I have the Gear America anti-theft shackles on my rear bumper. They don't move at all with the rubber washers installed.

Yes, both. Few soft shackles ( 1- Yankum , 2 Badlands) and a bow shackle along with a 30’ yankum kinetic rope. Factor 55 pulley ring.
