there are plenty of teyes reviews on youtube. and there are a bunch of cheap double din knockoffs on ebay and Amazon. they all run android.

i dont think you can go wrong with the teyes cc3, joying or the dasiata. lots of reviews on them here

honestly after tons of research, if i can fit the joying 15.1 without covering anything up thats the way i am going. if not i will go teyes. ordering friday for sure so have 2 days to figure it out.

    On car stereo forums
Teyes and Joying are the 2 most recommend android headunit.

They each have some customer support if needed

If I decide to change from my JVC 1000w the teyes or joying will be my go 2

Wasn’t trying to imply that they were, I understand everything will have its cheap knockoffs. But I read someone else’s post talking about the Apple CarPlay Teyes boasts on their website and how he still had to buy an external module to get it to work. I’m still not sure how it can compare to a receiver from one of the big 3 or what would even put that over any other basic receiver I can buy off Amazon for $200?

Can you specify which one specifically and or provide a link!? Is this the one? https://www.teyes.com.au/collection...ation-stereo-gps-android-10-no-2din-2-din-dvd

I’m starting fresh right now and a new HU is def being considered

Also, are you just getting a Line Driver because you are unable to use the Optical, IE you already have an amp that doesnt support optical in? I’ve not purchased a single thing yet.

You mentioned that the output of the RCA from the Teyes was low, and indicated the optical out was good. Is the Coaxial also good? The reason I am asking is I am having a hell of a time finding many amp options that have Optical input, but most have a coaxial input. If I were to go with multiple amps like you chose, how would you go about hooking it up? I am considering going with something like the alpine pxe-c80-88, which has a built in Auto-tuner, supports coax, and would run my entire setup with a single amp, and no DSP needed. To me this sounds like a bit of a home run but I am curious about your thoughts here.

I am pretty sold on the Teyes CC3 at this point....I just dont know what Amp(s) to go with and if a DSP is worth it or not. Enlighten me!

i ordered the CC3 2k from this link as i have a 2014 tundra. ordered single din based on being able to adjust it up and down more

    https://www.teyes.com.au/products/t...d-10-no-2din-2-din-dvd?variant=44132829757699

yea i have zapco amps and a jbl ms8 dsp already. i have not ordered a line driver yet as i want to see how it sounds before that. i will if i need it though for sure.

as far as the DSP...yea you want one if you are into sounds quality.

how many channels are you planning to run and how in depth do you want to get? what speakers do you plan to run?

What do you mean by single din for adjustability?? Is there another option for the Tundra? I see only one Tundra option for 2014 - 2020.

Secondly, on the Teyes page, they show some pictures and says:
"Note: If your OEM frame has these buckels, you will need to perform your own modification. If you do not accept please do not purchase."

Do any of you know what they are referring to when they say "These Buckels"? These pics look pretty damn similar to most/all Tundras I see, so Im not understanding what specifically I am looking for and more importantly what "modification" I would need to perform to make it work.

Does your zapco have coax in or do you have to use RCA from the Teyes?

As far as my plan, I dont have a solid plan yet, other than going with the Teyes CC3. Everything else is pretty much TBD, and why I have so many questions. My main objective right now is to buy zero regret things that I can add to later if I so choose. For example, I want to buy an Amp(s) that will be ideal for use with the Teyes. As far as speakers go, I am pretty open, but was thinking of going with the Tech12volts package. My thought originally was to go with 2x Tweeters in Sails, 2x 3" Dash, 4x Doors, and 1-2x 8-10" Sub(s). So thats 9-10 channels. I know many bail on the rear speakers, and given how this project is adding up in cost, I have been considering going with that out of the gate. As a result I have been eyeing the alpine pxe-c80-88 8-Channel Amp with built in DSP and Autotune, but clearly if I want 10 channels I would need at least 1 more amp to run 1 set of speakers (not sure if it would be best to offload the tweets, mids or subs). The Alpine Amp also has Coax in (unfortunately no optical), and several pre-amp outs that could be used to extend the additional 2+ channels. It feels like that may be a better value than a 10 channel, or multiple amps + a DSP. I am fully open to suggestions though. I have literally not purchased anything yet. I am hoping to have a call with James here soon to run these thoughts by him and see what he suggests...

so on the single din...you can go double of single. single allows you to place in the top or bottom section to adjust up or down or you can modify and put dead center. allows you to adjust the fit. as far as modifying the tabs, not sure. i will when take pictures though as i will install over easter weekend so long as its in by then.

for the zapco i will be using the rca. it is the studio sq line a/b amps that doesnt have coax. but i will be running the cc3 to my jbl ms8 by coax first. it should handle it as it can also handle high level speaker level input to. so shouldnt be an issue but if it is, i will just add a line driver. if bass is lacking ill add a bass restoration with line driver.

the alpine is a good choice. you put the 50w channels on the tweeter, the 3" dash and the rear coax. then put the 150 on the 6.5's in the doors

use one of the outputs to go to a sub amp. i would suggest getting 2 10" either go with the sub package with image dynamics idq and box from *********, or you if you build your own box you could go sundown sd4
or if wanting to go under the seat, you simply raise the seat 1" remove the foam and you could easily fit 2 or even 3 image dynamic idq-s 10's.

another option on amp with dsp and auto tune is the audison 8.9 bit 8. will still need sub amp pretty much no matter what. that one gives you more power though than alpine.

Im def not looking to dim the lights. I wasnt planning on doing an alternator/battery/Capacitor upgrade too....

As far as subs/box goes. I was planning to put them under the rear seat. Unfortunately I have the doublecab and dont have the room behind the rear seat like the Crewmax has, so I was planning on just building a couple enclosures that would fit where the current storage box is.

Yeah I have no idea why they even cut the wires in the first place, unless it was stolen and the thief cut the wires off. I am just baffled by why those wires got cut if they were putting a stock HU back in and the same connectors were in play. Makes no sense to me.

I did plug in the grey USB connector to the back of the HU (it had a standard USB connector attached to it). I have no idea what that did though. Possibly it links to the USB port below the radio/Aux port location???

I had one other thought, I wonder if the original owner put an aftermarket unit in and when he sold it he pulled it out and put the original back in. My guess is he cut the wires to connect to a different aftermarket harness.

Regardless, so long as the CC3 will work then I have no concerns....

btw i measured out the dash, the joyings 13.3 and 15.1 will not fit without covering up vents and the ac controls. so the cc3 is largest we can do for the most part. could do the joying or the alpine 11" but its gonna cover up a bunch. the joying 15.1 is beautiful though

Hey fellas, one thing I am curious about is the use of DSP with the CC3. The CC3 has a pretty ridiculous amount of control relatively speaking, such as a pretty extensive equalizer and the ability to add delays etc if you are into that. Given that level of control, is a DSP really that much more of an improvement over what this HU offers out of the box??? At this point it has me questioning if an amp with a built-in DSP is worth it either or just go with a standard amp?

prolly not. I already had the ms8 and i want autotune if possible. but i dont think you need one. its got a dsp built in. can crossover, time delay, big eq etc so...no.

Thats pretty much was I concluded as well, so I think I am going to pass on the DSP for now. My guess is its going to be PLENTY for my needs.

Congrats on the shipping! I am eager to see how you make out!

So assuming I dont need additional DSP, do you have any thoughts on an amp(s) that would make the most sense? Its looks like Im likely to need two amps, one for the doors/tweeters/dash etc and a Mono Sub amp, which I suppose doesnt need coax/optical given its just going to use an RCA out from the main amp. Thoughts? What I am finding is 90% of amps dont have Coax/Optical inputs :(.

i dont think your gonna find any with those inputs. just run it off the rca low level outputs. you can always add a line driver if you need to.
