That's why I only let it grow for a month tops, then shave and start over. I used to shave everyday, but fuck that haha. Once or twice a month is good. Every five or so facial shaves, I also shave my head.

I think you still can, with the stipulation that your back is against the cab and you're 18+.

For the first time in my ownership (maybe even in the life of my truck since I have every service record) the CEL popped on. Found a vacuum line that either came loose or that I forgot to reconnect in the first place. This was one of the lines that I did not replace based on condition, but I may end up doing that today just to be safe.

I mean, manifolds gonna rust either way. In addition to what @NUDRAT does, you can often just look at the condition of the alloy parts inside the bay. If they look like the anodizing is flaking off or totally gone, usually rust belt.

Man, that must've sounded like someone playing drums with plungers.

It sounded like a manifold leak, but it could only be heard at idle with the hood open.

I bought some and tried it. It worked for a few hours then drove me crazy again. I'm just not designed for a beard. Plus, I like being the only foreman with out a beard. I'm also the only one who drives a Tundra work truck. I'm a special snowflake.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Used to rock the goatee, now a full slim trimmed beard, and NEVER long. If it gets 1/4" its driving me nuts. 1/8 clipper guide FTW. A click above having 5 o'clock shadow.
I can grow it like a MF though, and for fuck sake why are my ear hairs, nose hairs growing 3x as fast.
A couple of my uncles were like monkeys, I am still scarred from seeing one of their backs, like a sasquatch sighting

I can rock the 5 o'clock shadow, but it still makes me break out. Doesn't drive me crazy. It's that 10th day when it starts.

That’s happened to me (same vacuum line, same place) several times and I’ve never thrown a code for it. However, you can hear the engine pulsate on idle and that usually clues me into pulling over and reattaching it with some electrical tape.

I think we are saying the same thing. I'm not talking about rust. I'm talking about the alloy intake manifolds looking weird like a white chalky corrosion.

In CA, when I was a kid, it was legal to ride in truck beds. Before I made it to high school, it had become illegal. From then on the law is that you may have passengers in the bed IF you have bolted down automotive seats w/ seatbelts. Technically, you could put 3 bench seats in the bed carrying an additional 9 people. However, if theyre caught without seatbelts, adults be ticketed, minors' tickets goes to the driver

Machined some DIY seat lifters. We took a trip from northern NM to east Texas for the eclipse. Came home with some serious lower back pain. I learned from @912 build thread about seat jackers. The website claimed relief of lower back pain? Hmmmm.? Had some time and equipment, so thought id save a few bucks.
Machined from 6061 bar stock i had collected some years ago. Spent a few hours cutting a template out of plywood on my laser engraver to get the dimensions and angles right (lots of minute angles to consider). I used the laser cut template to layout the lines and mostly just machined to the lines (something i was told in Vo-Tech school that machinists NEVER do! HaHa, come and get me!)
Took about 8 hours of design and machining. Took it for a 6hour drive yesterday. Its definitely a different feel, something to get used to. Hoping to relieve the pain on the next big drive.

can they correct where the clear coat has failed and the paint has melted? I would go for that but not sure anyone can pull it off.

You mean the patina? Lightly sand & reclear. The truck has earned some character.

I like this there’s no rust so run with the patina. She’s not a show truck anyway, just a bike hauler

They can do a repaint. That'll fix it really well.
Sadly, I have the same issue on my fenders and top of my doors. The shop that repainted my hood and roof said they couldn't do a repaint or clear on just those sections.

You have my favorite (rare) color but every one I've seen has the clear coat fail.

Side note, you needed new lower control arms. Did you see Toyota has 25% off again?
