It does. Turbocharged Direct Injection. I'm saying the chain set up is based off of the 4.2L gasoline sister engine. It's all facing the firewall, aka you have to drop the front cradle to service the engine.

Sounds like it’s better suited for a mid-engine design.

Dilemmas, dilemmas. Do I go this route, and use this as a platform for a sleeping area, and basically render my truck more-useless for hauling?

Or wait around and hope BedRug starts producing rugs again, which I was thinking I'd design a space around ... Hmmm....

I had to drive to Charlotte today and I was behind this 1st Gen. Not only was it leaning to the left, the rear tires were out of line with the front. What's the name for that? I've seen it on semi's and a few pickups before.

If the frames bent it can appear to “crab walk”. That left bias is Tundra or Tacoma lean. Driver, gas and battery on the same side.

This was worse than normal Tundra lean. Actually visible.

Have you thought about building a bed box? I sleep on mine and remove it when we're not camping.

Have I thought about it? Yeah.

But I'll be honest with you: I'm a "measure ten times, cut thirty" kinda guy when it comes to concocting things out of wood. The only thing I ever manage to get right is speaker boxes, and even then it can be a crap shoot. Even if I draw out the plans in advance. Even if I have someone look over everything. I'm a fucking engineer by profession, you'd think I'd be able to figure the shit out, but .... nope.

That said, if a pre-existing solution is out there, and I'm gonna be spending $200-300 on wood and supplies, and probably another $200 on nice slides and hardware, when a pre-made solution exists which only requires a couple of cuts I can trace out and zip away with ease for $100-200 more and it's going to look awesome, and I can potentially take it out if I really, really need to... I mean, in my head, it seems like a no-brainer. But I've also been known to have no brains with some things.

Dog tracking is what I've always heard it called but crabbing makes sense too.

Bent frame is a cause but it's just a misalignment of the front and rear wheels.

With the amount of LBJ failure notifications you get from FB, I would highly recommend that you never search for the term “moose knuckle” there.

We have a few members here who googled it too many times and now regret it.

Hey @KNABORES - it was you who had the lifters fail on a 6.2 Chevy, right? My buddy at work has a new high country that started to make some noises after he drives a bit then stops, then starts to crawl along real slow. Sounds like a thin piece of sheet metal scraping on something? Really bizarre.
