Lol no but there's plans, I think, for a cap here in the future. I'm not sure if I want a tree fort or sleep in the bed yet

When I come out your way on the 19th, I want to try to grab a Sequoia front sway bar from the Wrench-a-Part at some point.
Unless you plan on going before then and feel so inclined. I'll get Casey to give you a ZJ. :D

It's a pita to fish the wall but, if you can do it (access in the attic or crawl space) and insulation and cross supports don't prevent it, always fish the wall. You can use the cover conduits, but it's far from not noticeable.

That's the worst: You go and cut into your wall, then try and fish the cord up or down only to hit a horizontal brace you can't get past. Leaving you with two options: Patch the wall and/or run a cord concealer over the spot, or go whole hog.

Ultimately I think that's where @FishNinja's perpsective comes into play. You *MAY* be able to save yourself some pain by fisting the wall or running a stud finder over it BEFORE cutting, but ... man. It's like remodelling. You never know completely what you're gonna get until you start ripping into things.

@BroHon was it you that had walls made of slats and wires run through ceramic insulators? I like that ceiling.

as soon as i found something like that, and it wasnt mine i'd tuck tail & run. Drywall is pretty easy, but dont be surprised to find a pee bottle or trash bag stuffed in there. Lol.

Yeah that was me, but it was a job. A 70s ish leaking electric water heater in an OLD ass building/house.
But I have found shit in this house... old news papers, and a crushed beer can (you know the real metal ones) bracing the lower portion of the kitchen sink drain.

We put a newspaper in my buddies house he had built, and i had to walk the drywallers through a few complicated sections. But theres a full shiner bottle in the wall of his neighbors house. Recapped, because i'm not a monster.

In 10 years when deer park floods and they flatten the whole area to make way for pasadena lake, someone will scan it with their smart contact lens & call me up.

oh, no they cant, cause i'm not in the system.

Just wait till someone has to fish a fucking wire through there... you Bastard!!
I've done it at varying levels in a lot of places, Time Capsules I call them. One I remember that was 20+ years ago was a tennis ball tube, pay stub, news paper page, one of my empty Prozac bottles o_O, some money, and a hand written note. I'm sure I wrote something smart assed about the pay stub explains the Prozac bottle:rofl:
Knowing what I know now though, I'd never touch a psychotropic again, but it worked at the time...

You made me think of something. Yeah, while up in the attic drill a 1/2 hole or whatever through the top plate and get a Borescope in there and see if the coast is clear.
