Hello everyone, coming around to do my LBJs just in case. No wiggle or anything but just don’t know when the previous owners did them.

Currently waiting for new OEM LBJs to come in. So will take a week to two weeks to ship.

Ok to drive on these for now? I do daily it. I used a pry bar and no wiggle despite trying to pry it hard. No ripped boots either. Can anyone tell if these are OEM? I heard they were painted black like that. I also checked if they were MOOG but no zerk fitting. Not Sankei 555 either since they’re tan.

They are likely not OEM. OEM didn't use Nylock nuts and were provisioned for a cotter to use with the OEM castle nut. The patina is diff't also from everything around the one, for sure.

Replace the bolts also. Don't forget threadlock. And know what the torque specs should be for the OEM bolts you choose. See the LBJ sticky thread for more details.

Looks like I’ll have to risk driving it. At least it’s solid on there. Knock on wood

Hey, every mile you put on those things, count your lucky stars if they don't snap off. Swap 'em out and feel confident you won't touch the fuckers for another 100k-150k miles. As long as you use at least a blue threadlock and torque to spec, you'll never need to worry again.

Seems like a Duralast, only one that has a nylon locknut.

I thought some of the Moogs also had a nylock, but ... Maybe I'm thinking of their TRE's
