I'm looking at the TRD offroad exhausts to replace my stock SR5, looks like I need:

    PTR03-34191
    AND
    PTR03-34161

191 is 1400 dollars JUST for the MUFFLER??
    161 is nearly 1150!!

What the heck!? I thought $400 for custom dual pipes off of a Flowmaster Super 50 was expensive so I decided to look at the OEM TRD ones. Holy crud!

Oddly, you can do better for a good bit less money by moving away from OEM here.

Welcome, and feel free to poke around and do some exhaust research here on the forum.

I'm seeing sales for ~$850 for the first item 161 but I haven't calculated shipping and taxes for both. You might have to buy them from two different stores if you can find them for a good price and low/no shipping. Or if you wait you might get better deals later this year.

Looks like they want the same, if not more! 1500 dollars not including the tailpipes if I'm seeing it correctly.

I bought a muffler only from Dirty Deeds last year and I can't remember what I paid for it, it was either $250 or $350 and it sounds bad ass. Excellent construction sounds excellent, had to pay a couple of hundred for install because there was some custom work that the exhaust place had to do.

Anyone have any ideas for "okay" stuff then?

2500 for an exhaust system is absurd to me...

I just want something that opens the sound up a bit without breaking the bank! Leaning way more heavily towards a flowmaster super 50... The entire system and custom built tailpipes will cost me $600 if i go that route. I was expecting bolt on systems to be around 800-1000. (I'll have to check that spd but it only looks like they offer dump pipes... I'm trying to avoid drone or being obnoxiously loud or raspy)

You will lose low end torque with a Flowmaster. Call Keith @dirtydeeds. He has quite a few options.

Same situation, not a full system and uses the stock single tailpipe. To match the first post I'd like to specify I'm looking for a dual setup.

I will! For example the muffler only isn't an option on his site... I'll give him a ring today!

He can modify it for you - just don't expect it to stay $1k.

I followed up with Keith a while back - going to go with one of his double to single tubes. I will post a review (for shits 'n giggles) once I've received and installed it! An aftermarket exhaust is lower on my mod list as I have a few *must-dos* prior.

    Review:
DIRTYDEEDS BA MUFFLER 8" standard dual to single w/ hemholtds

Ran this badass system for about a month now. When I first installed it I didn't install the hemholtds resonator. It had a horrible drone at a certain rpm (about 45-50 in 6th) but after putting the hemholtds on IT SOUNDS SO GOOD! I've already had a few people exclaim how much they love the sound.

It IS a bit loud, and I agree if you do a lot of towing get the 10" at minimum but be sure to install the hemholtds!

Edit: Thanks Keith for all the help! You guys rock!

Exhaust systems are ridiculously over priced these days. Internet convinced everyone you need polished stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust systems for daily driving vehicles and you don’t.

Hang around and contribute to the forum, it’s only a matter of time before an @dirtydeeds muffler gets listed for sale locally to you.

I had no hopes of replacing my exhaust, but lo and behold, this forum hooked me up.
After searching the forums one night, I found one for sale less than five miles from me.

Patience is a virtue, and when it comes to a DD exhaust, it is worth it.
