Maybe it's because 'honor' is a big deal in Japanese culture and if you don't tighten that bolt to the exact torque spec, or build that engine to perfection, you dishonor your family. :notsure:

Maybe they need to sit back, relax and ponder the meaning of life and not let their job define them.

Japan wasn't always known for quality. It wasn't until after the war and the quality revolution where things changed for them.

I think that's the problem. The American Toyota doesn't let their job define them.
Meanwhile the Japanese Toyota is perfection.

In the future, the manufacturer who wins has a completely autonomous plant run by AI with zero manufacturing defects.

Just-in-time wasn't developed/implemented by Toyota until the 70s and it still took time to refine. Just saying cultures haven't been around as long as you think, and they aren't built overnight.

In the future, most of us likely have no jobs because of AI.
Not sure if it will be utopian or distopian yet.
They sell us on having all this leisure time to do the things you love instead of work all the time. But I suspect we'll actually be further reduced to chattel. Leading to lots of fighting among the masses for resources, while our overlords watch in good health and gluttony. Then the AI eventually turns on them too and all humans are slaves to the machines.

Joined the no-steps/nerf bars club today. Got tired of looking at them and no one seems to use them like I thought they would. Was crazy how easy they were to remove:

That’s pretty cool. How much they charge you and how many laps? Wish they had something like that around here.

Edit: Nevermind, it’s like $260 to enter here. No wonder I don’t hear much about it.
