Big camper & water barrels on the back bumper to balance the best gen. As i look at it today, the pop-up is too much more than i need to be worth it unless staying for a week or 2. Gonna fix it & flip it. Or put grandma in it. Send her to AR or GA maybe MI if i can find a level acre.

Finally got around to painting and installing the "TRD Pro" style grille I ordered from alibaba months ago... a little disappointed with the fitment to say the least. Guess I should have test fitted it before I committed the time to paint it. :p

Thinking about finding a gray gasket material (same or similar one that's used for the fender flares) or maybe sanding/filing the contact points down to see if that rectifies the problem. Any other suggestions to try?

EDIT: Got the fitment resolved. Reused the OEM threads vs the supplied ones and sanded about 1mm off the mounting surface. Looks far better now.

She's got the cam bolt stuckzies.

    I asked nicely

    I quit asking

Driver side is bare, a little break and I should be able to get the passenger side blown apart pretty quick.

Dam man that sucks. Truck looks like it has zero to any trust too. I’ll be doing this job in a couple weeks. Hoping mine aren’t seized .

The Jeep guys always come in clutch when they want to upgrade their tires haha. Picked up a set of 5x 285/70r17 C load Falken Wildpeak M/T. Paid $500. Build should be dialed in soon. Mounting them on SCS Brushed copper wheels.

I don’t think I could do that except outside in high wind with a mask. That smell is noxious.

Well, that took way longer than anticipated. @bmf4069 stopped by and got to witness the torching of the other stuck cam sleeve.

Both sides are stripped down now.

Tomorrow I will clean the frame/fenderwells/uca/lca. Then Wirebrush, Ospho, And shoot everything in some fresh black.

Gotta do some cam bolt research tonight. Probably should have had some freshies on hand.

It's actually just a bent stick welding rod, I use them for everything. I couldn't have the axles dangling all over the place.

This won't be popular, but I just ordered a set of "youlongdingdong" brand cam bolts from Amazon prime. Just a stopgap to buy me some time until a Toyota parts sale or I fab something up.
    Screen Shot 2024-06-24 at 7.12.43 PM.png

This style makes a whole lot of sense to me, and I could produce them in house. Just need a little time to think about all the details.

    Yes it is doomed haha.
I saw a pristine blue DC in my neighborhood go from grandpa to grandson and turned into a hot mess of stickers and the clear coat is pealing off. Kid chopped off the muffler haha. At one point he replaced the tailgate with an ill fitting net.
I actually tried to buy that truck like 5 years ago, when it was still pristine. But the grandpa said "no," because he wanted to give it to his grandson.
Now that was just one boy. So I can only imagine if your friend's Tundra has several boys to ruin her. haha

The dude would no longer be my friend if I ever watched him turn that truck over to (at least 3) his teenagers to destroy instead of selling it to me.
