I installed a duel DRL LED BULB AND IT STAYS YELLOW ON RUNNING LUGHT AND OF COURSE TURN SIGNAL. Should be white then change to yellow when turn signal applied. Any ideas ??? It was a Canbus bulb.

Why would you want a white turn signal?

A switchback should be one color for DRL and another color for turn signal.
The turn signal isn't going to blink from white to amber.

Also noted on the Amazon page..

That was my question. I wanted white DRL and of course a yellow turn signal. The switchback one I received didn’t work

I don't have a Gen 2 so I could be wrong, I'm just going by the wiring diagrams found here.
Ultimate TUNDRA Wiring Diagrams Collection | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

Your aftermarket LED switchback bulb should have 2 filaments in it, one white and one amber.
You can test them with a 12 v power supply of rig wiring from the battery.

A12 and A13 are the connectors to that bulb socket to your headlight.

    upload_2024-7-2_7-56-22.png

It seems your turn signal and DRL share the same circuit/filament.
They both run off pin 3 for power and pin 2 for ground, meaning they will be the same color.

    DRL circuit
    upload_2024-7-2_7-55-3.pngupload_2024-7-2_7-55-26.png

    Turn signal circuit
    upload_2024-7-2_7-57-57.pngupload_2024-7-2_7-58-26.png

Now the other (white) filament would be your front parking light.
Power from pin 1 and ground to pin 2.

So what you should have with this LED bulb, is amber turn signal and a white parking light/DRL according to the Amazon description.

But your truck isn't wired that way.

What you probably have with this bulb is a white parking light and amber turn/DRL.
Your truck shares the turn signal with the DRL and not the parking light....
You won't be able to have the DRL and turn signal different colors..

    Hope that makes sense..

My lights always flash but sometimes it doesn't 'beep', or maybe I just don't hear it.
The horn honks a short toot if I press it a second time to lock as per my aftermarket alarm.

You don't have any aftermarket alarm stuff do you?

Might be a silly theory, but what if you rotate the bulb in the socket? Maybe you tried that, I don’t recall seeing it above.

A few... Definitely more than 2
I did the same thing way back when, when I put switchbacks in my truck. The DRL (Amber) turns off and switches over to the "Parking Light Circuit" (White) when you have the headlights on. The only way around this is to defeat the trucks DRL function. I clipped a wire under the dash so my truck can run now with all the lights off and if I want the white lights I click the headlight stalk up a notch which turns on the tail lights and the parking lights up front. If you wanted WHITE DRL all the time you would have to modify further. You would need to cut the stock harness or otherwise tap into it with an ignition-triggered power source so that the parking lights would light up every time you started the truck.

@1lowlife nailed it with the wiring diagrams and analysis. That would have been great if I had asked that question back in the day but I was stubborn so I used a test light to figure all of that info out.

I really appreciate all the information. I think I’ll wait until I change out all to LED .
