I thought that too but apparently they're pretty solid outside of maintenance at the dealer being stupid expensive.

Good ole American Airlines just caused me to miss my connection in DFW. Myself and some girl ran to our next gate and got there right after it closed. She wasn't laughing at any of my stupid jokes along the way. Turns out she's deaf..

How long do yellow Bilstein last? I installed a pair on the front less than 13k miles ago and they feel like they're blown. Front of the truck is almost 4 inches lower than the rear. Only thing I can think of is the internal seals went bad with the truck sitting almost a year. Sounds stupid to me but the gas cap did the same thing although it was the original.

When we went skiing back in 2016, we got snowed out on the 2nd day. I got a 30pk of coors light and drank it all that day. I was pretty fucked up by the time it was gone. Like, falling down and had to be held up to pee. Good times.

It is unusual for them to go bad so quickly. But not unheard of for the seals to blow out. Not sure what causes it to happen, but I know I've heard of it happened to a few Tacomas before too. I'd look into getting them replaced under warranty.

@Mr.bee I found these cams and wanted your opinions. The Kelfords are strictly for VVTI, but the XAT can be had for either.
    Three different profiles.

    https://kelfordcams.com/product/1uz-3uz-vvti-drop-in-performance-cams

    https://kelfordcams.com/product/1uz-3uz-vvti-performance-cams-na

    https://xatracing.com/XAT-UZ-VVTi-Cams.html

I think the racetruck would be sick with those XAT 264/254 street cams.

Not sure which would be ideal for the VVTI, but I'm leaning between the Kelford 264/258 or the XAT 264/254 over the Kelford 251/251 cams.

Get them redones from rockauto. I have them and I like them. Very firm pedal. Not quiet new car new but like 50,000 miles new.

I did a universal line from oreilly's and ordered both to replace!
I'll do it all whenever I go long travel. Actually considering going to an actual BBK.

The stock '06 cams are 188/194 @.050 and .314/.315 (7.975mm/8.001mm)lift. I used to have desktop dyno & could plug numbers in & get an idea of where the powerband would move to.

Well, xat says the stock cams are 240/250 and 8.6mm lift, so who knows?

For trucks doing truck things, you want torque coming in at the lowest rpm. Thats why the 250hp 4.7 v8 feels more powerful than the 270hp 4.0 v6 the v8's peak torque is 3400-3600 and the v6's doesnt peak until 4400. Cams wont do it alone, gonna need compression or boost to go with it. Unless its just for the idle. Someone needs to learn how to do a ghost cam with the vvti.

No fluid on the ground or anywhere I've seen on the truck. I just noticed it the other day on the dirt roads. I installed them a little over 3 years ago. Rock Auto sucks for warranty returns unfortunately.

Wow. So aren't the fronts and rears different circuits (given the rears alone would have way reduced stopping power so there's the e-brake in this situation) What caused this?
