I did a few startups with idling. No misfires detected after startup. I did test the new plugs and would get random misfires with no codes before the coil swap. I probably had worn coils and these 8arfts coils are giving a more consistent voltage with no drop off. But need a good test with equipment.

It started making noise at 5k miles, I didn't replace it until 20k miles. The second one we just replaced when the engine was built, I think it wasn't lined up properly. We have the process down to two hours.

PXL_20240316_201611903.NIGHT.jpg the new girl is getting down pipes soon. I almost traded it in for an M8 Competition, beautiful car, but I'm going to stick with the AMG.

Has anybody relocated the SC intercooler pump? I seem to recall @PolishedTRD maybe moving it? Any issues doing so? It looks like maybe a little bit of hose and a revised mount.

I'm looking to make some room up front for a semi-hidden setup and didn't realize the pump is down low by the front frame rail. I'm assuming that's to place it at the lowest point in the system to avoid air bubbles, cavitation, etc?

Indeed. No problems and was able to keep it at the same level, if not lower, than where it was originally. Unorthodox, but I mounted it to my winch...
If I were to do it over again, I'd mount it similarly to @reywcms dad's rig.

All 8 are in, truck starts 1/2 a crank (like normal) idle seems smother, didn't drive but all seems normal.

    Here is a bolt comparison.

Can I ask why you did this?

If I missed it previously, I apologize. I do a lot of driving and it can be difficult to follow the thread.

My coils have 142k, new coils are holy shit expensive (for 8) theory is these have more voltage/use newer better tech & it was theorized are plug & play.

I found them from a Lexus turbo for 15 each with 74 (I think) k miles, & decided to be the guinea pig.

    So far so good.

    lol

Post #12580 from @Jowett describing the new designed coil for the 2.0 8arfts engine.
I installed them too, after seeing how good of a price @e30cabrio paid, as I have high mileage coils and random non code misfires. These have seemed to help with that and have consistent voltage with no drop. They were designed for turbo charged engines. @Jowett thought they would be a good replacement for the supercharged crowd.

There's a significant difference in performance even from 9.5-9.8 afr vs 10.5-11.0. It's like driving through a brick wall. To me that's too rich.

Before I had my water/meth dialed in I was at 9.1 to 9.3, now at 10.5. Are you still running with COTS for your PE? A while back I would occasionally get a p0101 code after start up or at low rpm. I believe @snivilous changed up my maf range for the fuel trims and the code went away.

Usually it's fuel trims at +20%. I think there's either a time limit, or amount of data points gathered at that fuel trim that makes it trigger it. Some trucks go deep into rich/lean and don't throw a code, other ones touch it and throw it so not sure on the specifics of what makes it throw besides being in excess of 20% usually.

If it's randomly doing both codes I would guess the MAF is having issues since the truck will usually go full rich to ensure it's safe if there's any question if the telemetry is good. I had a case where an O2 sensor had a code for weird readings and that bank went full rich on the fuel trim.

Speaking of fuel, I've added an Innovate ECF-1 to my gauges. It monitors fuel pressure, AFR, fuel temperature, and ethanol content. Although I didn't necessarily care about EtOH content, the flex fuel sensor is what provides fuel temps. I currently have the ECF-1 wideband hooked up to bank 2 and will have the PSB-1 wideband monitor bank 1 (as soon as I have time to weld in another bung).

Since both Innovate gauges have an analog out for AFR, and the HP Tuners ProLink+ has two analog inputs, it'll provide for a more informative data log.

I found it interesting how much EtOH is actually in regular pump gas. I've hypothesized that this is why Toyota sets stoich to 14.6.

*If you find yourself needing specialty fuel fittings, I highly recommend Fittings Space, as they have a wide selection, great customer service, and incredibly fast shipping. The male bundy fittings on our trucks (my truck, at least) are 5/16" and the fittings on the innovate sensors are 3/8". The fuel line is 5/16" but uses a 1/4" barb. The barb needs to be for Nylon hose (O-ring at the nipple... sexy). Fittings used to make this work were:
3/8" Female Bundy to 1/4" Barb
    3/8" Female Bundy to 1/4" Barb 45º

You could use the nx 5/16 fuel adapter with the 1/8 npt port for the innovate sensor.
