What do you plan to be hauling on that BTW? Are you building a camper or just a flatbed?

Really enjoying seeing the progress. Know enough about fab work to help and how to stay out of the way, but don't know how to weld. If I was close I'd be down come buy and help (drink beer). I actually really enjoy it.

Nice! Sink, shower & toilet amenities? Aliexpress has a combo unit for $2500. I’m not sure how good they are though.

unknown what they are, but its getting replaced soon OEM are on the way. The truck was in a wreck at some point I wonder if this was part of it. it seems to be the little block that stops how far the wheel can turn.

My fabricator has been pretty cool and lets me hang out during business hours and help work on stuff. Also, we got to know each other whenever he was just by himself doing my truck I offered to help cause I wanted to take pics in between. If it was enough to pay the bills I'd probably consider doing it.

No, none of that stuff is really important to me. I did leave space behind the shock tower for 20gal of fresh water and 5gal of diesel for the heater.

It will really revolutionize the camper setup and free up precious inside space. Think sexy service bed wrapped around a camper. Its gotta be form and function though.

I noticed I lost grease coming out of the LBJ while I was working on the front end. Has anymore used a syringe type to put grease in the LBJ? I have about 10k miles on the set.

Are they new OEMs? Ask the dealer/retailer if they can replace the defective part. You shouldn’t have to do that.

    On a Ram - sure.
On JakeJake's build it's for milkbone & elk bones for Dale. Space is tight in a slide-in camper, Dale needs his own storage.

Low Mileage 1st gen brothers? I hope to see it reach 777,777 miles. I've been thinking a lot lately about buying a reg cab 4x4 with really low miles- they seem to be dirt cheap compared to any access or double cab with the same mileage, super bargains if the engines aren't sludged.

I haven't seen these gems! I see great deals on 4x2 RCLBs, but not 4x4. When I was looking, I saw a few come up that were 4x4, but always high mileage, or if low mileage, asking north of $15,000.

This was just a quick search and the frame is Rusted Out sold by dealer, but from private sellers I usually see them around $7-8k in this range. there aren't a lot of them out there but people just cant sell them as high

The latest edition of the Waltrip grille, previous chapters quoted above, I got everything knocked down and sanded to 120, 180, 220. Got good fill on the holes, but landed a couple of tiny pinholes with the JBW on the larger fill. Not sure I'll use it as filler again, but in this case, filling holes almost an inch deep, it made sense.

I think the pinholes will probably fill when shot with primer. Made a quick custom block to sand that front edge, contours are good. Could probably prime as-is, but I can see at least two spots I'd like to feather out which aren't mine, factory defects, and a couple of lines from the 120 still. Wish I had a sandblaster to shoot the back, it's gonna be a bitch to scuff sand all the nooks and crannies back there.

If I didn't say it already, I hate body work. The only thing I hate worse than body work is drywall.

Hot one today, I think I cooked the ole' brain a little.

Still have most of the To-Do list that I started with, But the shock mounts are (mostly) done. Need to clearance the top mounts a little and burn them in. They are setup for 5.5" of travel each direction.

I did knock out these mounts for the flatbed while I was waiting for the shock mounts to cool

This guy came by for a few minutes to inspect my work. Hopefully we can get into some ditch flexing/burnouts tomorrow.
