It’s all relative. Back then most of us were earning 1/2 to 1/3 what we earn today.

When I saw the allthread flex like that put three on the strut. Takes some finessse to fit em all in but each to carry less load so easier to torque them in in a little at a time. Thinking of building @JakeJake's setup for the press if do it again.

Where'd it end up height wise with those springs on that clip setting...Oh wait the spacers back in there too....?

Makes a huge difference for my old eyes. A few of them flicker once in a while. I'm sure if you go a couple clicks up in quality you won't have that. But I'm cheap AF.

Got a cool military vibe to it. Just need to mount a .50 on the camper roof or a SCUD array.

I've been using clamp on compressors for springs for about as long as I been missing cars. I have never once had a mishapp due to ignorance. The minute you don't treat the scenario with the level of caution and respect it needs, is the minute you become a YT or TicTok clip. Accidents happen yes, but it won't be because of my willful ignorance of the situation. Also these shit tier springs absolutely need these compressors

I mean it went, it is doable. Now is it optimal. No. Should I have just raised them up to the 2.7 inch mark yes. Did I have fresh OEM top hats to do that no. Was I under prepaired for the task, yes and no. Would I do it like this again knowing what I know now.......

Well, the $300 I was going to spend on it is looking like it's getting redirected. I got a line on some Wildpeak AT3W in good shape for what will likely be net $200 with a little side sale on the wheels, and I found some GX470 wheels in great shape for dirt cheap. I may just turn around and sell the whole shebang for $600 when I'm done. We'll see. I'll know more by EOD today.

Got my new coilovers installed. That was hot! Of course the lower shock bolts the previous owner used were wrong and way too big and would have stripped out the lower shock mount if I tried to used. Luckily I had 2 spares on hand. I have no idea how so much dirt got in the top of both of the old assemblies, but good riddance.

I had to quickly start adjusting my new coilovers. I was rubbing every time the truck twitched since they did not come with preload like the sales person said they would. It can be done on the truck, and without a spanner wrench, but sketch-ily and not easily. And there's a more than decent chance of mangling the adjuster ring holes. I used 2 ratchet straps cuz safety obviously. Finally managed to get about 1.5 inches about of them and can drive without rubbing.

I also managed to replace the rear speed senso harness, the rear passenger speed sensor (still didn't clear my ABS light) and replaced the tailgate molding which only had about 30% remaining.

Im happy to report that my parts pile is at an all time low. Ive got oem TRE's and boots to go on the rack and a new PCV vale to install. I'll probably be liquidating a bunch of spare/extra parts later in the week.
