Nah, then I hafta try and figure out a way to get up there and back this week. I'll spend about $120 in gas getting there and back. I'm gonna hover on CL and FBM for a couple of days. Someone will post something doable, hopefully.

    EDIT: Appreciate the offer!

Yeah, I sold 4 out of 5 to a taco guy, I still have one in the basement, brand new, never mounted, in the box. Jeep wheels are still on the 285s, I'll get em dismounted when I have some replacement wheels.

This is the guy who bought them's truck with the wheels installed. Definitely looks better on a truck with dark flares.

Nah, he came at me asking if I'd take $600, I think he said he was on a budget. I had 'em listed at $750 for 5. Told him I was cool with separating out to fit his budget and I'd sell the unmounted spare separate, hopefully for a open-box pricing around $180-200.

He agreed. I thought it was a fair shake both ways.

Meh, I haven't heard a peep out of him. Maybe I should ping him and see if he wants the 5th for $160 or something. It'd be nice to get rid of it.

Some years ago i got chosen for jury duty. I was actually looking forward to performing my civic duty. I made it to the final rounds of the draft pick (inside the court room). The judge explained to all of us potential jurors on exactly how we must decide the case. The judge then asked all of us if we had any questions or concerns. At that point knew very little about the case, but what little i did know, i stood up in front of everyone in the courtroom and pretty much told the judge i wouldn’t be strong armed into making a decision on someone’s fate based on local laws, and not by a higher moral right or wrong standpoint. The judge got pretty pissed and told me i had to make a decision based on evidence. I more or less told him (in a most respectful way that i could as the time), that if i have to make my decision however YOU want me to make a decision, then i’ll just keep my mouth shut and vote however YOU want me to...and WHACK goes his gavel! All the other people on the jury just stared at me gob stopped. I looked back as them in pity. The defense team voted me into the jury, then just as quickly the Prosecutor kicked me off of the jury. The judge almost declared a mistrial, and couldn’t get me out of the courtroom fast enough! I guess they didn’t want a free thinking mind to make pivotal decisions for someone else’s fate? I was a bit disappointed that i got booted from that case.

It’s difficult for me to explain...i think what happened was that one guy punched (or assaulted) another guy. I was getting the impression that the judge was only interested in if the puncher really did indeed assault another person...NOT if the punch-ee instigated the incident or not. But the way the case was being described, it sure sounded like the punch-ee had it coming. I wanted to be on the jury to hear out both side as well as what lead up to the altercation, NOT just who or what made first (or second) contact.

I feel as though the United States is still the best country in the world, but because it’s run by men (and by men i mean mankind) then it will always be flawed. There’s just no way around that. I may be obvious to some things, but i don’t have a problem standing up to a flaw when i see it.

But more or less the judge would require the jury to vote guilty in this particular case.

After doing some work to the truck it was made abundantly clear that I needed a good car jack… Many sketchy moments with the old school one.. This should do just fine!

Harbor Freight sells the same jack under the brand name Pittsburgh for as low as $89 for the standard reach/$159 for the extended reach and often in the sales flyers for even less. I have beat the hell out of mine for 7 years now and it's still working as good as new. I even used it to jack up the front porch roof last year when I rebuilt the bottom end and deck.

It was the only size remotely close to my current size that I could get for around $50-60/tire. I’m testing something.

in actuality, and I should take a picture of this, but the 285/70r17 with 15-20% wear stacked next to my Legend EXP in 275/70r17 brand new are basically indistinguishable. Other than the profile difference. My Mickeys are actually wider on the tread base than the Wildpeak AT3W by more than an inch. I suspect it’d be the same story with KO2 and Ridge Graps. These Mickey EXPs are just gnarly meaty.

But yeah. This is why I’m looking for some 17” wheels on the cheap, something in the 4.4-4.8 backspace range. Hopefully under $250. I’d like to be out the door under $500, knowing this is a test, and I can likely resell the set for more than I’ve got in it.

What the time-limited hunt feels like rn

(time limited b/c I have nowhere indoors to store the tires, and won’t until I get the wild peaks mounted I want my bed back)

We need to go camping or something. Northeast GA. Chasing waterfalls and all that. I'd let you mount one of my wheels. Granted my tires are down to around 7/32 tread. My wheels have 4.3" backspace.
