    Hello,

I recently hit 100K on my 2014. I have a short work commute but own a lake property in a bordering state that I visit 1-2 times a month pending the season. I don't do any towing.

Now that my truck is over 100K I was curious if anybody had suggestions on parts I should consider for preventative maintenance? I’ve done plugs, all fluids and of course regular oil changes with ujoint grease. I need to do a serpentine soon but wasn’t sure if there were any worry items I should consider.

I understand the ‘ain’t broke don’t fix’ mentality but my properties are between central KS and southern MO. There are a lot of desolate stretches of highway and backwoods/lake roads. Breaking down with a loaded truck and 90lb dog will be a hassle and I know it can be inevitable, but since I can do about anything mechanical outside of internal eng/trans I don't mind putting some $ into parts for peace of mind.

I thought there might be some weak point suggestions out there and appreciate any feedback.

Had an 04 with 176,000 on it. Never had a problem that would have left me stranded. Didn’t do anything but oil changes brakes etc. so I would not worry.

New radiator cap. They have a little rubber piece that can break off, get stuck in the upper radiator hose and restrict coolant flow.

Seat covers, dash mat, ext. Trans. Cooler, sumo springs, oem pwr fld tow mirrors
Thermostat, tensioner, battery, wiper blades, brakes, wheel bearings, water pump, alternator, heater hoses, radiator hoses, cv boots, would all be some things I would be considering depending on condition.

Plugs, belt, shocks, fluids, filters, hoses, send it.

Im creeping on 250k. I’ve needed a starter, rear wheel bearing and a trans solenoid. All of which were around the 200k mark and above.

I’ve pro-actively replaced some stuff (a-arm bushings when replacing shocks, radiator cap etc)…but hasn't needed much

Replace with another stock one or is there a better alternative that doesn't have a rubber piece?

IMO, the AIP. If you can, replace them with a delete kit from Heweitt. Complete delete kit to include the valves. Any malfuntions on this system will make the Tundra go in limp mode.

    Wasn’t that an issue for the 4.7 2UZ? I don’t think I’ve seen any of those issues on 4.6 1UR , or 5.7 3UR.

I swapped out the rad hoses for silicon mishimoto hoses. I just crossed 100k miles myself (101k currently) and haven’t felt the need to make any changes to my maintenance habits. Next items I’ll do is a trans drain and fill (I think that’ll be the 4th) and it’s second coolant swap. Shooting to have those done this winter. Still on factory rotors and my second set of brake pads.

I am not aware of an aftermarket option. Toyota OEM is almost always your best option, but rubber just gets hard and brittle over time.

There's a huge thread on that here. When the 2nd gen series Tundras were piling up mileage and aging, there was spike of that issue on 5.7L. I'm not sure on the other engines. I was planning to do the delete on my 2010 5.7 cause I was planning on joining the group of overlanders or offroaders in the area here. So one of the "upgrades" that I planned to do was this one. 2020 came and the overlanding plan was cancelled. But, I still want to do that upgrade. I'm at almost 140k miles, the climate here is mostly dry and rust formation is not too much of a concern. But, it's up to the OP. When the fault happens, the truck goes into limp mode. Sometimes your truck may have intermittent fault codes triggered by the AIP system.
