Also, congrats on dumping the 100, how did you do it? Funny you mention it but I had an appointment at one of my doctors today (yes, one of many docs-long story) and he put in a script for that Ozempic shit for my fat ass.

I got diagnosed with diabetes and that scared me straight. I started cutting carbs and sugar and eating more veggies.
Started walking a mile in the morning and one in the evening, plus doing pool excercises. Doc has had me try all the diabetes/weight loss drugs (except wegovy). I was also lifting dumbbells til I injured my elbow... Technically I worked thru the injury for almost a year. I can lift again in two weeks. Had to do 12 weeks of PT.
Moved up to 3 miles a day in the winter and since summer I've been striving for 4-5 miles a day. I need to get back in the pool. I'm excited to start lifting again.

Hell yeah, good on you for doing it the old fashioned hard way, eat right and exercise. Me, I'm too old and my body is too fucked up, so I'll try the drugs. If my insurance approves them that is.

I mean I'm hitting it from all sides. Currently on ozempic. Once I can lift again, I'm going to sign up at the city rec center (defunct YMCA) and also take pool aerobics classes. I'll be looking for a lifting partner or a trainer in August. I just want to beef up without injuring myself. Seems to be a running theme with my life and weight lifting.
I figure once I drop another 40lbs or so, I'll start jogging every day. Maybe hit the elliptical.

I don't need to drop 100+, I'd be happy with maybe 50 max. I just hope that if I start the Ozempic it doesn't interfere with my beer drinking cause I can drink more Miller Lites in a day than @bmf4069 can drink Ultras during a 3 day weekend bender.

Ill jump in here because my joints are pretty jacked up so hard exercise is hard to manage. But i did drop 20 lbs with an Alkaline approach. That is alkaline diet. Shift your body from acidic foods to alkaline and then weight just comes off. Check out PH Miracle diet by Dr. Robert Young. Please dont do the drugs, too many side affects, just not normal.

I lost about shy of 10% of my body weight just by dropping beer. I was hovering around 190, sometimes up to 195. When I weighed myself this morning, 177.2 and I guess I dropped the beer like April-ish?

Cutting out the empty carbs makes a massive difference. If any of us can quit drinking, or even have the self control to dial it back to, like, one beer a day (which I found too difficult for myself), it can make a massive difference in 6-12 weeks. I sleep better than I have in years, and don't get winded as easy.

Granted, y'all are younger than me so I'm sure it'll be different, maybe faster results?

Now if the f'ing arthritis will stop progressing, I'll be happier...

And you get Ozempic ass! And now they're seeing vision loss is another issue.

Man, seeing what it's done to Randy Jackson is fucking scary! EDIT: This is one of the more-flattering pictures. It's scary seeing him talk in real life now! He looks like he's aged 30 years.

I don't get it. Ozempic is making him age? I don't know anything about it other than people using it to lose weight.

People don't understand that skin is elastic and as you get older/fatter it stretches more and loses its ability to snap back (elasticity).
When some people use weight loss drugs intended for diabetics (especially when they don't have diabetes), they lose the weight too fast and their skin can't keep up, so they end up with lose skin. Same thing happens to bariatric surgery patients often.
There are surgeries to remove the excess skin. Also helps to tone your muscles while losing weight so you don't lose it too fast and you replace the fat with muscle. That way their skin can have better odds at shrinking some.

Anyone have ideas on how to torque down a new rear shocks with a rectangular head at the top instead of an Allen slot? Nothing to grab onto except that rectangle. Wrenching the nut only spins the whole shock top shaft.
    Screenshot_20240718-203732.png

This is what happens when I try to grab the top little rectangle with pliers and turn my smalll 14mm wrench.

Find you a small wrench that fits the end. Maybe a 3/8 or smaller.

Problem is it's not a 6-sided hex, literally a rectangle. Will a small wrench fit and hold?

If it's not too loose it should work. Think of a square plug oil drain on a mower. The wrench only grabs onto 2 sides there too. Just find a small wrench that fits nice and snug.

You don't have to go Hulk on the top nut. Just tight enough to squish the rubber to almost the size of the washer pieces. Doesn't require 400 foot lbs.

You could always try a "shock absorber socket". They are for the rectangular tops.
