I figured out what that squeaking is in my front end..... This fucking guy. I just regressed it 2 weeks ago. I used red and tacky grease. Anyone got any guesses as to why?

If it’s a poly bushing and you didn’t use poly-specific grease, expect it may squeak. I have poly-safe Superlube I use on mine. Unless the OEM gives you packets of grease, which SPC/Eibach do.

Squeaking is one side effect of going poly. So is stiffness.

This is my fear with Poly bushings. I dig the performance and feel. I dread the squeak. Guess you just pump it full of the right grease and the squeak goes away?

    That all depends.

If he didn't grease the insert - basically if he didn't grease every single point where metal touches poly - the shit is gonna squeak like a motherfucker. That means greasing the sleeve before pressing it in, greasing the sides of the bushing before turning it into a washer-sandwich, etc.

But that KSP arm is also uniball/delta style joint IIRC and those are prone to squeaking too, if not serviced.

They are not uniball they are standard inverted ball joints. And everything was grease up on install. This squeak started Tuesday out of no where. Same day everything just went to shit all day. I try to grease them every 3 to 4 months, proactive maintenance. And it's not the ball joint it's the sleeve/ bushings pivot joint. Maybe a different grease?

Looked at it and realized I don't have a payment and it's worth the new fuel pump assembly, window run and fuel pump gasket I just bought for it. I just hope it looks at me the way I do it some day....

That's the same exact spot i would store a wood 2"x12" plank (ramp) in my old 71 ford highboy's flatbed...until it caught on fire. Back story was that it was fun to coast down hill though a tunnel with the engine still in gear, but with the ignition key turned off. Then i would wait about 5 seconds and when i would turn the key back on, ka-BOOOOM!!! It was as loud as as shotgun blast! I guess you do that enough times over the years, and eventually the muffler will explode...which unknowingly to me it did. And since that's where i stored my wooded ramp right above the muffler, it was shooting hot exhaust onto dry wood. It all came to a head one night when i was on a 200 mile trip out to eastern oregon where ws pretty much nothing. I happened to be on a loooong desolate highway and i thought, "i wonder what the top speed on the truck is?" I promptly accelerated up to 100, then dropped it back down to 55mph again. A few minutes later i began to smell a forest fire. After another hour of so of driving i still smelled the same forest fire. About 15 minutes later i looked in my rearview mirror and started seeing the sun rise...at 11pm...in the East. Then i saw some flames from my side mirrors. I slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the truck and pulled out my flaming 2x12! The truck was fine except for some melted wires...that powered the trail lights, turn signals, parking lights, and headlights. Luckily one (out of two) of my KC Daylighters works. I drove with one spotlight for the next hour to my destination. And no more combustible materials next to a hot exhaust anymore.

I absolutely love what you're doing! The angular shapes of the cubbies look spot on aesthetically pleasing. Keep up the excellent work!

I know you flexed out your truck with the camper on the back, but it kinda looks like you don't have very much uptravel? I used to own a RTI ramp (i loaded it to a friend, and he loaned it to his brother, so i doubt i'll ever see it again), and i would use it all the time to test for suspension clearances.

WHAT?! I still definitely hear sounds. All the stuff the kids don't want me to, and none of the stuff they think I should.

Well hotdamn Mad Max, look at you go!

In all seriousness though, are you going to burn the entire seams, or just burn every inch or two and seam sealer the rest?

You know, it's amazing Elon had all those designers and engineers on the Cybertoaster and it looks like something a 5yo drew. Then we've got you here making a friggin masterpiece. What the hell. Props.

Well front differential is f'd. spider gears, ring gear and pinion actually looked fine, but the Pinion bearing wouldnt even turn, only about 3 tablespoons of oil came out and it was allllll glittery. Then, I wrecked the end of the pinion shaft trying to get it out. In fact, It still hasnt come out.:anonymous: I press bearings in and out all the time and I thought I had to be missing something but that mfer just did not want to move. Thinking its not worth the effort to rebuild since gears bearings and everything else runs north of $700. If I start dreaming about lockers Im spending more than double what the truck cost me.
I think the solution is buying a used ebay diff for $400, changing the oil and hoping for the best. However, The diff dilemma is going to wait until I pull the bed and start addressing the rust.

Is that pump more efficient than OEM?
As in, is it also going to be sufficient for the turbo plans?

Almost all EFI trucks have fuel pressure regulators, so that shouldn't ever happen. Our trucks are no different. You could potentially blow out the regulator, but I haven't seen it happen before.

www.car-part.com or hit FB Marketplace and Craigslist looking for one. At least with a salvage yard selling thru car-part, you should have some level of warranty. Need to make sure the gearing matches up, but I assume you know that already.
