nope where the sunglass holder is , one side has tabbed pins (front if i remember correct) rear has two stationary tabs that go under headliner. You'll see it clipped alone by itself not connected.

Sorry a little off topic. Just looked at my spec sheet and I see no mention of homelink. Does "digital rearview mirror" imply that?

There are 3 different rearview mirrors in the Gen3 Tundra.

    Regular rearview
    Homelink rearview
Homelink on Digital rearview (with SPA)

@Spdfreak91 The GR 86 mirror you installed seems pretty similar to the Gentex one I was looking at, but better price. I think I'll go that route.
My only question now, is that mirror a smaller width than the OEM Tundra mirror? Since the GR 86 is a small car, I don't want my mirror to be smaller than the current one, which is barely wide enough.

I thought it may have been as well but the frameless GR 86 mirror is just a tad bigger than the mechanical dimming one that was in there I THINK, I also included the wiring diagram from MEMORY, so make sure you check your wiring before attempting this, and if not people do sell the wiring with connectors already on, this was just my way to save a buck and make it work.

I got this far and soldered the wires, now I just need to put the pins back in the black connector that connects to the trucks upper console harness. Do you remember which of these four wires from the actual mirror is 12v key, constant, and ground?

If anyone is looking for a auto dim, homelike and compass mirror I have a couple I plan on selling. I ordered three of these because I got them at a very good price. I would sell them for $100 each shipped to the continental US. I'll post more pictures if there is an interest.

Did you even connect the grey wire from the mirror to anything?
I’m assuming green and white are together to constant power, black is ground, and grey is ignition power?

    @colekbod @Spdfreak91

Is this correct? I’m trying to follow along and this is what I ended up with:

3 pin mini harness from mirror to 5 pin tundra optional/cam plug. I have green and white to 12v, gray to key, and black to ground?

    Thanks!

@jkk001 I have green and white to ignition power, black to ground, and I didn't connect gray at all. Mirror works great and only when the ignition is on.

If anyone is wonder if the OEM frameless mirror with homelink (part number: PT374-00210) works, it does! Even though the Toyota website states that it doesn't fit the 2022+ Tundras it actually does. It's a little bit bigger than the basic mirror too. The buttons are located underneath. I got it from the parts.toyota.com site for $129.

Was that part number plug and play, or did you have to perform a little electrical sorcery as well?

I'm running that mirror in my Tundra as well. It's battery powered, so no wiring necessary. They say the battery should last 10-15 years. Range on home link is great, looks so much better than the factory mirror. All positives in my mind!

I think I will be too. I don’t like a lot of unnecessary clutter, so I’m excited to be able to get rid of my normal garage door opener from the visor.

Man - I love my camera rear view - i use it all the time (unless my back window is down, in which case the reflection makes it hard to see)

Just got one of these for Christmas and not able to get my mirror and the OEM dash cam working simultaneously. I used their option of (have 5 pin connector and it’s occupied) so they included a jumper harness but only the mirror powers on and works and now the dash came doesn’t.
Sent an email to the company to see if this is known or what happened but just as an FYi if anyone goes down this route.

Looks like it was pinned out correctly so wondering what went wrong but hasn’t been my week for electrical stuff and the truck lol

I know this thread has been quiet a while, but wanted to post on my most recent mod update and it's using info from this thread. Hopefully this may help someone else out. I sympathize with the OP as my new '24 Tundra SR5 with premium options also only had an old school manual rear view mirror and I knew this was going to be one of the first things I changed. It's crazy that we're in 2024 and vehicles are still being sold with manual rear views...

Anyway, I found this thread and loved the frameless option that I've seen on here. I would normally go with something from Bob's mirrors (did that for my Tacoma when I had it) but wanted something a bit more sleek looking.

I followed along and ordered the PT374-18220 mirror like @Spdfreak91 talked about in his post here
Just search that part number on Google and get one at a good price. I got mine from a wholesale site that looked like it wasn't necessarily just for Toyota parts, but it was the cheapest place at the time. I was confused at first, because everywhere I looked this part number up for mirror assembly it always said in the description that it was battery powered, but I can confirm this is the wired version. Some others have used the battery version of a mirror that looks just like this on this thread and I'm sure that works well too. I just wanted something installed that I didn't have to worry about changing out a battery eventually.

This mirror itself is going to come with a 5 pin type A, female connector end on it, but unfortunately our trucks come with 5 pin type A female connector as well.

    Mirror connector:
    upload_2024-8-5_8-41-32.png
    upload_2024-8-5_8-41-52.png
    upload_2024-8-5_8-42-10.png

Here's the white, 5 pin type A female plug in the roof console box. It's going to be tucked up on the left side there with a clip holding it in place. You can just pull the whole connector up to unclip it and get it loose like I have it here:
    upload_2024-8-5_8-44-14.png

So, I gotta figure out how to get a male connector end on the mirror. I wished I could have found a male to male 5 pin type A connector so it was just plug and play, but after searching all over, I couldn't find something that was out there. I could have made something myself but that was extra cost and I wanted to go ahead and get the job done with what I had, so I did like the others and made my connector end from what was in the mirror kit.

Luckily, we get a male to male pigtail end that comes in the PT374-18220 mirror kit. You'll get a male 5 pin type A connector (which is the end we're going to use) that goes to a 3 pin connector, which I'm sure would plug into the GR86 vehicle this mirror is made for.

I just cut the end of the mirror about an inch from the connector and cut the end of the pigtail about an inch from the 3 pin male connector so I could make my special harness.

    upload_2024-8-5_9-7-57.png

    upload_2024-8-5_9-8-40.png

I like to be somewhat consistent with wire colors. I moved around the connector ends on the male plug end to get them in the correct spot for what was measured on the truck. To do this, you have to pick off the white piece straight up on the connector end - it should just slide up once you get a small flat head underneath it.

White connector piece I'm talking about:
    upload_2024-8-5_10-34-14.png

Then use a very small pick, like one of those that comes with phones to help remove a sim card, to de-pin the connectors so you can move them around to different spots. There are official tools for this, but the sim card removal tool was the smallest pick I had. Here's a little video showing how this works to get an idea: https://youtu.be/59VqmKvQVCs?t=9.

So, really you just need to de-pin the black and the white wires from this male connector. The black will then move to where the white is and the white will move to the open spot next to the green. You can leave the other ones alone.

    upload_2024-8-5_9-24-29.png

The plug in my truck was S15 from the Locations and Routing diagram which is called "Optional Connector (1)". I think there is an official rear view mirror plug up there somewhere, but this 5 pin plug is easier to get to and common to the parts we got in the mirror kit.

    upload_2024-8-5_9-26-41.png

Here is the diagram of that plug S15. I found pin #4 was ground, #2 was 12V when truck turned on and #1 was constant 12V. There were no wires to #3 or #5. I am only going to use pins #4 and #2. I decided to leave pin #1 open on the male connector plug end so nothing is connected to constant 12V.

    upload_2024-8-5_9-38-11.png

I soldered the connection points where the dots are (from the diagram below) and left the other wires open/un connected. I taped each solder point so they wouldn't touch then tightly wrapped it all with electrical tape. You could hardly tell anything was modified! There is a small cutout on the left side of the headliner where the wiring for a factory digital mirror would go, so I used that to fish the connector end up to the plug location.

It was tough to get the mirror moved to a location where I could get a torx up there to tighten down the mount point but finally got that done. Then I powered the truck on, made sure the mirror had power and worked okay (which it did), then buttoned everything back up and programmed Homelink from the instructions that were given! VERY happy with the outcome.

Thanks to @colekbod for the post on how to connect everything here
So here's a final quick wiring diagram for how I connected everything. (Keep in mind, this is how the 5 pin male plug end would look if you moved around the connectors like I showed earlier in this post):

    upload_2024-8-5_10-27-17.png

I hope this helps anyone else out that wants to connect this mirror! I love how it's frameless, has Homelink and auto dims. Exactly what I needed. Enjoy!

Thanks! here's a couple pics showing the mirror in action with Homelink. Also have a night shot in there showing the buttons lit up. The light is not too bright to be distracting.
