Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

After 4 years living in Bourbon Country, I've found what I love, and have a great collection. Shifting back to Irish Whiskey for a while. Had a layover in Dublin after 2 weeks in Italy............. Here was the take. Lemoncello and Grapa are for me, Wine was for the MRS.

 

It is outstanding juice............. Good price!

 

I'm in, we should look into Old Forester. Bardstown is also in on that kind of thing. I'd LOVE a Michters though.

 

I moved some of my collection over to a new locker today. This is a photo of someone else’s locker. This is not mine although I wish it was! This collection is impressive to say the least!

I got the call for Russell’s Reserve 15 year. I’m excited to compare this one to the 13 year and the Single Rick House camp F and camp C.

Today at Buffalo Trace they dropped the single oak project bottles for sale. I wish I was in Kentucky today!

I got to Bardstown KY for the Bourbon Festival over the weekend and it was fun, but crazy busy with long lines. I also stayed in Louisville and went to 4 distilleries along Main St, no great scores but I did also go to Woodford, Four Roses and Wild Turkey where Jimmy Russell signed my distillery only bottle, what a nice guy. I inquired about the warehouse A bottle of Kentucky Spirit and they had never seen one and couldn't believe I found one in Massachusetts of all places. I was able to score 2 last year and now wished I had more because they were so good and of course I will never see one again.

I was in Lousville two weeks ago - poked around a bit but found nothing of interest.

I did get to have my favorite burger of all time at the Mussel and Burger Bar, though.

 

I ended up eating at the Morton Steakhouse right around the corner, wish I had known about Mussels. The Bardstown I bought is pretty good, a West Virginia Barrel Co mix that I tried at their distillery and went back for a bottle my last day in town, happy I did.

 

Found @ Lee's in West Wendover, NV. Best price I have ever seen this for at $200 so I jumped on it.

 

Threw $100 in the WoF machine before leaving town, free whiskey and gas.

 

Honestly, yes.

 

Was visiting the in-laws and found the Knob Creek 10 Rye in the grocery store. Guess that's one advantage of the Midwest as that one hasn't shown up locally here in the PNW yet. The Wyoming Whiskey National Parks edition was the first I've seen since they started a few years back, will see how it measures up to their Single Barrel.

 

I just stopped there (W Wendover) on Tue evening for a brief stay on my drive home from Oregon. That's a nice haul on the casino's dime.

 

Nice! I tend to hit this machine with $100 everybtime I go out. The last 6/7 times it has at least paid for gas.. usually that and more. Time before last it stiffed me.

 

I sampled this at the distillery and liked it enough to drop the $150 while there. Good stuff, nice mildly complex with rye spice and easy finish.

 

Went to the ol Whiskey cabinet and it was bone dry so I reached into the fridge and brought out some mead...

Utah DABS started doing allocated drops differently. Much better system now.

Not a great drop today but still picked up some decent stuff, all at retail.
