if you read the manual they should have done that first. usually takes a day.
i waited till the end when i did my own install to find out the wrong dongle was sent in the kit. i could have had it figured out and correct one sent before i finished but…

Senor Toby, can you make custom intake now? I saw the AFe stuff and was getting trigger happy, but I'd rather have something cool like that.

FYI for anyone who plans to run and pin an aftermarket hood. There are 2 threaded holes under hood. Just need to get a M6-1 threaded bolt and latch kit. Lines up perfect. Grease end of the latch bolt for marks on hood bottom, send it with a drill. Now shit won't go flying up on the highway

I haven't thought of a nice way to build an intake that would be any better than the Magnuson, and I don't want to make a pile of shit like the Prospeed one. So for now, answer is still no sadly.

Nice! I'm about to open up the whole side of the lower airbox to the fender. Fiberglass it from the airbox and have it loosely fit through fender and seal the area with a rubber u channel.
    I like your design!

looks good! what brand are those? Also how'd you go about drilling the hood? Been running my hood for a little over 2 years without pins, been hesitant cause I had a shop spray a good UV resistant clear on the hood when I got it and I feel like its going to crack once I drill through. Figure nows the time to just go ahead an do it though, so would appreciate the tips

You bet man! Here's the link, Pack of 4 Universal Aluminum... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJTDJ2PV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share, some Amazon cheapo ass pins but they clasp good and feel solid. Bolt size is perfect. I used a 3/16" bit for a pilot hole then a uni-bit for the push button. Keep in mind on this Seibon hood it the carbon fiber/space and fiberglass. Underneath where its fiberglass you'll have to make the hole bigger so the nut can fit and tighten against the button.

Yes, but no normal person is buying that  unless they want a high clearance intake for no benefit on a normal truck

The 8 speed started in 2016+. I biggest benefit I saw to it was the gear spread. Someone posted the link to the thread here a few pages back, but the AB80F has more first gear with stock 3.3 gears and 37"s than the AB60F does with stock 3.9 gears and 31"ish tire size.
AB80F first gear with 37's is nearly equivalent to an AB60F with 4.88's and 37's. Downside is I haven't seen any upgrades for it yet.

It has been done, at 6377 miles and many more to go, with a big smile on my face. Now what? What do I do :)

And what are some of the things to do and watch for? I am hearing you need the truck to warm up a bit when you first start it? How long?
And do I need to break this super charger in, take it easy on it, for how long? I didn't slam it so far. I am being gentle :)
    Anything else?

When I look around on the webz, it seems that what we're referring to as the AB80F is actually an AE80F, and interestingly, there are no 2WD applications of it. Something else that caught my eye when scanning Wikipedia's page on Toyota's A transmission, is that the AE80F is listed as having two reverse ratios. What's up with that?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_A_transmission#AB6xx

Kind of tangential, but the page also mentions that the AB60E locks in 4,5,6th whereas the AB60F does not. I've peeked into HPT and compared two stock tunes between a 2WD and a 4WD, and there are no differences in the transmission tables, but what is curious is that the tune for the AB60E has 4WD tables listed. I'm hypothesizing that Toyota might just use the same ECU/TCU for both vehicles and in the AB60E application, the 4WD tables just aren't referenced as they're not needed. This makes me wonder if it might be possible to interchange the two ECU/TCU units or if there might be other aspects that just haven't been noticed.

Looks awesome! Congrats and enjoy. Any first impressions? The main thing is to make sure the engine is up to operating temperature before being hard on the throttle. Remember the oil temp lags behind the coolant temp in getting up to operating temp as well. Other than that, a steady diet of premium fuel and frequent oil changes at least every 5k (preferably 5w30 IMO) should be about all that’s required. I don’t believe the supercharger itself has a break in period.

Monitoring AFR with a wideband is also recommended, and most of us do a boost gauge for both fun and monitoring purposes. A catchcan may be a nice addition too in order to keep the effective octane in the combustion chamber consistent and help keep the heat exchanger clean. It could be worth data-logging some driving and sending it off to @snivilous or somebody to look over and make sure your tune is not going to be detrimental.

I wouldn't be too worried about excess warm up. Let it idle long enough that the revs start dropping and don't go WOT out of the parking space...

WOT redline runs when it's all up to operating temp obviously, but these really are OEM quality superchargers. Pay attention to detonation from bad gas, although the Toyota knock sensing is super sensitive and will catch most. Then get a wideband and periodically keep an eye on the AFR.

Then, save $$$ for gas and enjoy!

Agree with what everyone else said. No break in, send it WOT whenever you want, treat the truck the same way as before. You don't NEED anything, but I would do a tune and/or AFR gauge next, but no rush on that. Plenty of people bolt a blower on and enjoy it in stock form forever.

    3 quick ones:
    1. My face hurts from this stupid grin on my face LOL
    2. For the first time I think I've experienced 1G in my truck :) or maybe 2G?
    3. And the gas needle moves in real time as I am driving really fast. This thing can actually drink fuel like a drunken sailor.
