Today's trucks are awesome machines, but all half-tons are far too low to the ground to satisfy the pavement princess crowd. These things couldn't get over an ant hill these days without some rub. Mine's up 3 inches on 35" tires, I can go a lot more places than a stock truck, even a TRD Pro. I may not be able to keep up with the Pro in the desert, but honestly, how many people are actually taking their Pro, or a Raptor for that matter, desert running? Not many. Then again, how many people are actually taking their new trucks off road? Probably less than 20%.

Agreed I think I will settle on 35’s as much as I love the look of 37’s I really don’t want to deal with a CMC and additional modifications to make it possible compromising the integrity of the OEM build.

I plan to use the stock TRD 18” Pro wheels with Wescott designs collar lift installed and featured by them on their website. I’ll probably go with Toyo’s even though I do love me some Nitto RidgeGrapplers.

I plan to lift it in the next couple of months as I’m planning out the build with Wescott designs and will absolutely post a video link here for the featuring at Wescott designs here in the AZ Valley. I want to get as close to a 0 offset as possible with spacers possibly though I’m torn on extending the OEM wheels from the hub to accomplish this.

thats not to satisfy the pavement princess, its to satisfy CAFE

but I do agree, not a huge % of trucks going off -road overall.

You have a same plan(and thoughts) that I am going through with my recently acquired 24 Pro (traded in my 22 when the Pro showed it’s face at the dealer).

Gonna go 35’s (Atturo Trailblade XT) then a Local shop here going to Wescott lift it.

Not liking the spacer thought either…so will see how the 35’s look then go from there. Keeping the BBS also.

Obviously the Pros are different, but I went with the Westcott front end lift with the TRD Bilstein shock option from the 3" Toyota lift. I skipped their rear spacer and went Dobinson springs in the rear for a little more rake since I tow. I ended up with about 1 1/2" of rake, which I like, and the Dobinson's did amazing while towing 7,500 lbs. Still had some sag, but not bad, and the ride was fantastic. Toyota springs are severely lacking. They hit the bump stops with little weight. Even Jeff at Westcott said the Toyota springs are weak. I know the Pro folks won't want to replace their precious Fox shocks, but I don't get the hype. Bilstein's are far superior from my experience, give you a lifetime warranty, and if you have an issue, they replace it, no questions asked. Fox is a nightmare to deal with for warranty of their shocks. I put Bilstein 6112's on my wife's 4Runner and 5100's on the rear. Night and day difference in ride quality and handling.

I do recommend Westcott for anything Toyota truck related. They're expensive, but you get what you pay for. I'm in the Phx area, so they did the install on my truck, my wife's 4Runner, and my son's Tundra, which has the same set-up I do. If you're lucky enough to have them do it, you won't regret it. Bonus, I've met Jeff at Westcott several times, he's the owner BTW. He actually cares about you and your vehicle. He wants to make sure you're happy with everything because quality is his number 1 priority. He even took extra time to talk to me about the Dobinson rear springs, which unbeknownst to me, was something he was interested in after he heard somebody wanted that instead of his rear spacer. The guy knows Toyota and will do everything to make sure you're satisfied. Great customer experience. So much so that my family has spent $7K at his shop over the last 4 months.

Side note, I actually met TRD Jon there while he was in town for his Tacoma. Really nice guy. Sat with me for about 30 minutes and chatted while I waited for my ride after dropping off my wife's 4Runner. Give his YouTube a channel a shot. Not for everybody, but I like a lot of the stuff he does and he responds to your comments on his videos.
