Any pros / cons between the two that would justify the price difference?

Looking at 18"s from RRW. Would like to hear yalls input!

weight being primary. mono forged can allow for some more nuanced angles and generally thinner material where desired so they do look a bit more pleasing to eye. cost being downside. if cost isnt a factor, forged all day

Cast wheels are molten aluminum poured into a cast. They’re cheap, but heavier, and less strong.

Flow formed is kind of a misleading term. Flow formed wheels are still cast, but they’re cast and then spun to their final size. They’re more expensive, but lighter and stronger.

Forged wheels are basically pressed and milled into shape. They’re the lightest, and strongest wheels typically.

Generally speaking cost will also be from lowest to highest, cast, flow forged and forged respectively.

Money no object forged wheels all day, but if you don’t do any hefty off roading cast or flow formed will meet your needs and be considerably less expensive. As an example, for OEM wheels the Off Road 18” wheels are ~$400 each new, while the Pro forged wheels are ~$800 each, roughly twice the cost, but they’re ~4-5lbs lighter and stronger.

Thanks for all the feedback. Seems like the consensus is that Flow formed will do just fine. Sure wished Forged wheels were cheaper!

The forged from RRW are some of the cheaper ones I have seen at 2K. I paid over $3600 for my TE37s for my Tacoma.

I was just looking at the RRW site because I was curious, it looks like for a 3rd gen Tundra the only options in 18" are forged, but they are on sale right now which is nice!

and compared to their 17" flow formed offerings, the forged wheels here are only $75-$100 more expensive per wheel, as opposed to the usual 2x price (granted its a 17" flow formed wheel at $325 vs an 18" forged at $600-$630 but you get the idea).

They were just at $375 a piece for pre-order but the color of my choosing was out of stock!
