20231017_001800.jpg Well they certainly dong make this sh*t intuitive PN wise. In case this helps anyone, the toyota recall website would only show my frame recall...so I called Toyota at:
    1-(800)-331-4331

And the yound lady verified my 02 received LBJ recall kit in December of 2005. They show zero play. I am about to due more front end work and now im confused bc I ordered new LBJ from McGeorge...due I need to source 4 of the slightly longer recall bolts?

I dont want to replace current lbj that still seam tight with stock more prone to issue lbj as routine maintenance, id rather track down 4 or the upgraded bolts. 20231017_001258.jpg

when I ordered the same kit I got mine with the LBJ castle nuts and pins included? I guess it depends on who you order through? But don't expect them to always come with it.

Oursiman includes castle nut and cotter pin. Definitely seems to depend on who you order from.

Can confirm my parts fr/NormReevesToyota for my 06 AC V8 2WD:

    04006-62134 Joint Kit Lower Ball $190.13 1 $190.13
    90105-12316 Bolt Flange $1.83 8 $14.64

Pics in my last post show the items [2 LBJs w/boots attached, bag of 8 bolts [separate item]]; 'whats included', yeah I guess does depend on source. Hope thats not confusing anyone [any further].

That's fine if you want to get two bare LBJ and all 8 bolts. If you need the castle nut and cotter, you won't get them with that order. LBJ kit is just the ball joints, and potentially the rubber protector (not sure)

So... I've read through this whole string several times and I'm still confused as to which part number is correct for the Left and Right LBJ for my 2005, AC, 4x4, V8, VIN 5TBBT44135S463029

I believe the kit is 04006-62134, and the bolts I believe are 90105-12316, but what I am looking for is the individual LBJs.

In this string for Left I see 43340-39595 or 43340-39175.
For the Right I see 43330-39825 or 43330-39825

I have been ordering my parts from Toyota San Diego Parts Online and their website shows the -39175 and -39825 at about $140 each and it looks like these come with a new castle nut and cotter pin.

Can anyone confirm that these are the correct parts?

The right-hand part numbers you gave are identical to my eyes, and the correct p/n. I dunno where that -39175 number came from, when I looked it up, it tied back to earlier model T4R and Tundra. I dunno where the heck @Rich L. got those #s.

Your '05 and my '06 should take the same parts in the same quantity as mine here, which are for '05-'06 trucks, which come with the cotter and castle nut replacements:

I got my numbers from the parts ordering site linked in post #143 of this thread. When I look-up 43340-39595 it says "1 model, 4 variants between 2007 and 2007"

The ones I ordered will be here this week so I guess we'll see...

Mine's an '06 AC 4wd. But when I lookup my numbers on other sites is shows something completely different. Sucks that these parts systems are so confusing/confused. Wish I could've ordered the recall kit but it's not there.

I do all of my parts lookups after entering my VIN into the search here: https://toyota-usa.epc-data.com/tundra/

After plugging my VIN into the search and searching.
I click on Transmission and Chassis link.
Then next to the 2nd image in that section, I click on "48-02 - FRONT AXLE ARM & STEERING KNUCKLE".
Because the image is small, I click on "Open Full Size Scheme".
From there, I click on each one of these links for RH (right hand) and LH (for left hand) to get it to spit out the part number for the assembly inside that black box below it.
What part numbers do you get when you do your parts lookup my way?

Okay, just talked to the parts guy again... He won't sell me the "kit" with both. And confirmed my numbers are wrong in his system and that your numbers are correct. He guesses the '07 designation in there is probably because the warranty replacement started in '07. Uhg, he'll take my erroneous order back and refund. Then I can reorder.

So I'm going to edit my above posts and remove my bad numbers. Thanks Guys.

Boy, this was a fun read. Looking to order the double LBJ kit through Ourisman, seems to be a crapshoot whether you get the castle nut or not...but it's $90 cheaper to order the kit vs the individual LBJs, worst case scenario no castle nut and I can source them from a local dealer for a few bucks each. Actually they're $1.66 from Ourisman as well so I'll add them on, worst case I have a couple extra nuts...wait.

Looks right to me, that's exactly what I have in my cart (except the cotter pin, good call). Just haven't clicked the go button yet.

That recall kit and those fasteners are correct for 2005 and 2006 in all flavors. crossover happened in mid-2004, so it would also work for some late-year 2004s, but you're safe with those on your 2006.

That's a very good price if you're getting free shipping and no tax. I was around $275 shipped on mine buying the individual joints (which come with nut and cotter), and the 8 bolts. But I don't think I ordered during a sale period, so I probably could've gotten it down to $220-230 shipped if I'd tried.

They do add shipping and tax, which comes to $236 total for the parts above shipped to my zip code. Neither of my local dealers list the recall kit and each LBJ would be about $165 with tax through their discounted online sites, so this is a significant win on that front.

I have a 2005 DC 4x4 with 140k which had the LBJ recall in 2007 and now I plan to order items in the cart screenshot above by hpark21 through Ourisman. You said you ordered the same items. Did your double LBJ kit already include the castle nuts and cotter pins or was it necessary to add on to your order?
All of these LBJ failure photos have me ready to get this done! Thanks

Full transparency, the parts are still sitting in my cart - haven't ordered yet. But the general guidance provided by @shifty` and a couple others in this thread indicates if you order the "recall kit" it will not include a castle nut and cotter pins. Some also say there is no need to replace the castle nut and cotter pins can be sourced anywhere, but if you do wish to go ahead and order them both it only adds about $6 to the order anyway.

At this stage in life, I am sticking with OEM parts for certain items.

For those with a 2006 Tundra SR5 DC 4x4, below are the part numbers for the LBJs and bolts. It's probably already posted, but I will add it again which may make it easier for others to find and to confirm the part numbers. I ordered the parts on Toyota's online parts website and picked up at my local dealership. If you order online, the prices are waaaaayyyyyy cheaper than walking into the parts department. I've purchased OEM parts online that were 50% cheaper than over the counter. Also, I found the Napa LBJs were more expensive than OEM.

I just replaced my LBJs and the non-stock LBJs were ok during inspection, but I saw a small cut on the driver side rubber boot, so I decided to replace them (just bought vehicle) After removal, I found what you see in the photos below (could not see during inspection due to being compressed on vehicle) and the passenger side had a very slight play in it that did not show during inspection.

LBJs (includes new cotter pin and nut): Prices may differ in your region.

    Part Number: 43330-39825 ($142.20)
Lower Ball Joint Assembly Right Hand with Knuckle Arm

    Part Number: 43340-39595 ($143.48)
Lower Ball Joint Assembly Left Hand with Knuckle Arm

    Flange Bolt:

    Part Number: 90105-12316 (8 bolts $15.76)

Quick question, is there any reason why you got the separate parts instead of getting the kit which I posted 3 posts above? Was it because you just wanted to pick up the parts from your local Toyota dealer? Just asking because separate parts seem to be about $100 more than the kit. Thanks.

The kit doesn't come with fresh castle nut, rubber boots (in some instances), or cotter pin.

I purchased separates during a national sale event at the online Toyota portal and paid within 5% of the price I'd have paid for the kit, castle nuts, and cotter.

    1) I did not know about a LBJ kit, 2) I had already replaced the LBJs before your post date and 3) I just became aware of this thread today on LBJs and the kit. When I contacted the dealership to get the part numbers, they did not mention anything about a kit. Had I known, I would've bought the kit. Always like to save some coins.

PS: I just check for this part number on Toytota's website and on Toyota Parts Overstock and it's no longer available. How long ago did you get your parts and where?

It would appear that's a special only-dealer-can-order item. Like, the 'kit' is linked to the SSC (service campaign) and not a 'standard' part. It's something the service department would punch in the system.

I've only ever seen Ourisman/McGeorge with it in stock, so my guess is they're doing something special in their system to make it publicly available.

Really, the big disclaimer here is this: If you're not 1,000% positive which recall kit is for your truck or your truck is a 'crossover' year for LBJ design changes (there's a couple, clearly, at least 3), then pay the extra amount to buy individually so you don't get stuck holding the bag on parts you can't use.
