That’s exactly what it is. It’s a Land Cruiser Prado. The entire “Land Cruiser returns” thing is a total sham.

We’ve always had the Prado in the North American market; it just wore 4Runner or GX badging.

Sucks that the 600 got smaller. We don’t have that space issue in our 570. Front and middle rows have room to move. My leg does rest on the center console leather when driving, though. It’s definitely smaller than the Tundra.

But we have no problem utilizing all 8 seat belts in it. The 3rd row is for kids 12 and under only, though.

The more time goes on and all these redesigns are unveiled, the less I am thrilled with the shared TNGA-F platform which now underpins all my previous favorite Toyota models.

Well, that kinda depends on which Sequoia we’re talking about...

2G Sequoia is pretty big. Think 2G Tundra interior except it’s a 3-row SUV with a 3rd row adults can actually use because it has independent rear suspension.

The 3G Sequoia—like the 3G Tundra compared to the 2G—is a bit smaller, and the 3rd row suffers the same vertical space constraints as my 570 because it too has a solid rear axle.

    I’m still pondering this…

design mess is a good way to say it

the lx600 is nothing special. Why the high price?

    it’s silly

the MX is such a better package

We may go eyeball a sequoia tomorrow

    just to see

the wife is looking for something easy to get in and out of. The sequoia may be too high

The MX adjusts height. Which is awesome

Yeah, the MX checks a lot of boxes. Especially with you guys already setup for a Tesla

I’m seeing some deals on older MXs…$24k w/ 133k miles.

    Why shouldn’t I?

    Range issues?
    Outdated tech?
Expensive battery replacement on the horizon?

    you know what's tough?

    cross shopping a MXp.

    what compares to it?
what do we need to consider?

    the LX don't
    the Sequoia don't
I'm not buying a german car.
    MB is stoopid.

What should we look at that compares to the MXp?

We love the MSp, but it's a pain to ingress/egress for a daily driver.

the only thing I don't like in the MX is the lack of a rear console in the 6 seat version.

Our 570 is the best vehicle we have ever owned. 15 years old now. Only issue is some paint peel. And 13mpg I guess.

If I were to test drive its successor the 600 and found that it was more cheaply made and lost significant interior space all in the name of gaining that extra 0.01mpg, I’d definitely be disappointed in it too.

I wish the new LX was that size.

the new one was the same as my son's '15 4R.

and the interior looked about the same.

    damn shame.

I do not know how a family with teen kids could fit in the new LX.

    it's a joke.

and why doesn't the new Sequoia have regular DAMN armrests in the rear captain's chairs?
those fold down arm rests are cheap.

the '06 Seq we had was the last of the perfect SUV's.

    Shared platform + shrinkflation
    Those are such great vehicles.

Don’t sleep on the 2nd gen Sequoia though. It’s like my LX + 30% more space with the option of running 2h as well as *unlocked* 4hi/4lo, a roll down rear window, and a walk through 2nd row option.

My wife still wishes we had gone with a Sequoia just for the space. I think it’s the most underrated vehicle on the road.

In other news, I don’t think I’m going to buy that 133k mile MX for $24k. Not sure I trust a super high mileage used Tesla. A friend who just took delivery of his new MYLR sent me this:

    https://insideevs.com/news/731559/tesla-least-reliable-used-car-brands/

It’s difficult to parse info on used Teslas. I have also read that Tesla’s drive units are good well into 200-300k miles.

So…is someone biased? Is the author/publication biased against EVs? Against Tesla’s owner?

Whatever this forum told me to do

as it relates to Tesla...the news is remarkable.

it appears to be in direct relation to Elon's political leanings.

I would not buy any high mileage used vehicle.

when I hear negative Tesla news, I ask..."compared to what?"
the big 3 EV's? is there a real comparison? the Bolt had STOP SALES!!

Tesla makes a great vehicle. many car companies do. many don't.

heck..most cars can run 200k with routine maint.

I liked the front seats of the LX...but the MX achieves everything the LX does with about 100 less dash buttons.

Wife backed into a branch hanging in her blind spot. :frusty:
Small scuff on the paint that should buff out, I'll probably just replace the scratched taillight.
Could be worse.. I've done more damage to the Sequoia.:anonymous:
