I’ve been making do with an old inflatable sized for my 4Runner backseat. But it is super cheap quality, not comfortable, and not sized for my truck bed.

    Tons of options out there.

Which do you prefer and why?

Are you planning to sleep in the bed of the truck? I would get a high-quality sleeping pad with a high "R" value or if you want something more permanent, I used 3-inch memory foam and cut it to fit in the back of my Land cruiser when I was car camping.

When I used to truck camp (can't do it now, I'm old and soft and I have a pretty cushy trailer, so I'm ruined for anything else) I'd put down a few moving blankets, (this softened the corregations of the truck bed) then 3" memory foam, then my sleeping bag. It was damn comfy as I recall.

I've slept on my Bedrug with a few blankets on top a couple of times.
    It was fairly comfortable..

Thanks all. Yes, I plan to sleep back there for truck camping. But cannot do anything permanent or semi permanent as I use the bed for all kinds of stuff. I have a bed rug on all sides on top of the spray on linex, but I don’t find it terribly comfortable. In a pinch I’ll make it work with some blankets or a sleeping bag. But I’d prefer to find a really good easily inflatable and deflatable mattress that fits the majority of the space like a glove.

I use a Klymite double sized inflatable mattress when I had a softopper. It's comfortable and packs down to almost nothing.

I sleep in my bed quite a bit…have used all sorts of things. Have a bed rug, and have just used sleeping bag on it, but it’s too firm for me. Have used my backpacking mattress, but it’s too small really.
Ordered up an Exped Megamat 10…it’s 6’ x 25” wide, and 4” thick. Very good insulation . Great stuff sack. The width between wheel wells is 50”. Crewmax bed is 66” long, 92” with tailgate down, and 88” diagonal tailgate up. REI has it on sale now for $100 off

A foam mattress has worked for me. I roll it up with straps when not using it.

What’s it sitting on top of? Is that the Decked system?

I've always used a 3/4" stall mat on top of my spray in bed liner as it keeps shit from moving around too much and gives my knees a bit of relief over the harder surface; I believe it also provides a layer of insulation... Then when sleeping in the bed, I'd throw down a memory foam mattress pad (from Costco or similar) and sleeping bag on top of that. If I didn't have the memory foam, I'd usually just sleep on an adjustable chaise lounge w/sleeping bag, but I prefer to be able to turn, shift around, and stretch out... So, that method was always secondary to the mattress pad

I actually just went camping for the first time with my truck last week and used this mattress. I was in the same situation, needing something that could be taken down and stowed so I could use the truck bed for mtb stuff. This mattress was the cheapest but best rated one I could find on Amazon. Quality is good, fits the bed good. The tailgate can be shut as well. My bed is line x’d and I have a bed mat down as well as a soft topper . With this setup, I only need to fine tune my blanket/warming set up. The mattress did its job and I slept comfortably. It did lose some air during the night but there was a 25 degree drop so that’s understandable.

    Roll a cot https://www.camptime.com/collections/cots
    add a 4" mattress https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BL6H7Y2J?ie=UTF8&th=1

The roll a cots are designed so they bridge over the wheel wells and with the mattress you'll be sleeping soundly. I use two in the bed and it still leaves a small "aisleway" gap between them. There is space underneath for storage when they are set up and they breakdown fairly easily, very tiny footprint when rolled up.

I also love my Exped megamat. It doesn't fit the whole bed perfect, but they are incredibly comfortable.

Can cram it in diagonally with tailgate up…or just sleep tailgate down
I have my head up by the cab, so the bears will have to make do with my feet first :blahblah:

    Hey, reference your decked system...

Did you end up w/the original or the newer generation, and did you end up having to remove the OE tie downs and install their components???
